Cost €82,000 after easily winning sole start in Irish points in May and wasn't extended when scoring on hurdles debut at Hereford (16.2f, good) last month. This will be a sterner test, but he's a nice prospect for his respected yard.

Winner of 2 of his 3 starts in bumpers and got on top close home when striking on debut in this sphere over C&D (good to soft) last month. Useful novice in the making and has to be high on the shortlist with improvement likely.

From a good family and showed far more than on his hurdles debut when chasing home a decent type in Storming George at Doncaster (16.6f, soft). Will probably benefit from a stiffer test in time, though, and Four Springs is presumably the stable No 1.

Little to shout about in 4 runs on the level for Grant Tuer and looks set for a struggle on this hurdles debut.

Fetched £240,000 after winning sole start in Irish points, but the way he has capitulated in 2 runs under Rules to date is somewhat disconcerting, including on last month's return/hurdles debut at Lingfield (underwent a wind op prior to that). Probably more one for handicaps in due course.

Looked useful when winning a Huntingdon bumper on debut in February. Didn't measure up to expectations following a wind op on return/hurdles debut at Stratford, but was in the process of stepping up on that when unseating rider at the last (in second place at the time) in a C&D novice last month.

Half-brother to numerous winners, including fairly useful hurdler Majestic Touch, and did the job well when winning sole start between the flags in April. Probably didn't beat much that day (several from that maiden point have since offered little under Rules), but he's interesting nonetheless.

Fair maiden on the Flat (stays 1½m) for Andrew Balding, but no show 2 starts over hurdles so far and this 4-y-o is another who will probably be better off in handicaps later on.

FOUR SPRINGS could be the answer having followed his wide-margin point success during the spring with an authoritative display on debut in this sphere at Hereford. He remains open to improvement and may well go on to better things in due course. Quaviste proved his hurdles debut run to be all wrong over C&D last time, closing in second at the point of his departure at the final flight. With the promise of better to come, he is second choice ahead of another unexposed type in Japetus.
