It's now 16 runs since his last win in 2022 and he looked held and set to lose further ground when falling heavily 3 out at Ascot (16.8f) at the beginning of last month. This ease back down in class rates an obvious plus though, and the handicapper has eased his grip further. Cheekpieces back on.

Ended last season with a fine second in the Foxhunters at the National Meeting in April and not disgraced in pair of starts upon returning, just found wanting late when seventh in last month's Grand Sefton back at Aintree. This rates less demanding from steadily easing mark.

Dual hurdles winner who shaped much better than on his final 2 starts last season when a close-up third of 3 in handicap chase at Sandown (20f) 31 days ago, no extra only final 50 yds. Visor goes on now and he's one to be interested in on the back of that.

Progressive winning 2m hurdler last term who fell on reappearance/chase debut at Perth but matched hurdles form when fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Worcester (16.5f, good to soft) 49 days ago. Has a bigger effort in his locker provided he brushes up his jumping.

C&D winner who took advantage of a drop back in grade when successful at Huntingdon last November. Needed the run when a well held third at Warwick on return last month but step forward when finishing a good second of 6 in handicap chase at Catterick (19.2f) 19 days ago. Claims from handy mark.

Off the mark in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Hereford (19.7f) in May and bettered that form when runner-up on chase debut at Sedgefield (21.1f) in September. However, latest Bangor run 4 weeks ago was a backward step (pulled up after 2 out). Needs to bounce back in refitted tongue strap.

THE GOOD DOCTOR's reappearance third at Sandown was very much an encouraging platform to build on 31 days ago and appealing as the type who can defy this sort of mark, he earns the vote with a first-time visor potentially putting an extra edge on him. Jet Plane is also strongly considered down in class, with C&D winner William Cody another fancied to feature.
