Sky Bet Build A Bet Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Got off the mark in 2m4f novice hurdle at Newbury a year ago but below that form after, including sent chasing on return.

Maiden pointer who bettered his hurdles form when second in first-time cheekpieces (retained) on chase debut at Warwick (25.4f, good to soft) on latest start in January. On the downside, he did make rather hard work of things that day and it remains to be seen if he'll build on that on return.

Made it 4 wins in last 6 starts in staying handicap hurdles when shading a tight finish at Fontwell in May. Little impact sent chasing over inadequate trip there on return but much better can be expected now.

Some creditable efforts earlier in the season following a spell in the doldrums but not in the same form over this trip at Ludlow last time, finishing a well held third of 5. However, potentially well treated if first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect.

Justified support in first-time blinkers when ending a losing run in a 2½m Worcester handicap chase in July. Back to that level when 3¼ lengths second of 4 to Fern Hill over C&D last month and 3 lb better off with the winner here.
