Fair form in a trio of bumpers last season but, after 8 months off, finished well held when mid-field in a Chepstow maiden (16.1f) on hurdling debut in November. Not much impact in novice at the same C&D (soft) last time and will be of more appeal once handicapping.

Encouraging third in a Worcester bumper on debut and, after 6 months off, he again showed ability when filling the same position in novice hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, soft) in October. Could be ready to get off the mark this time around.

Winning pointer who improved from his bumper debut when third at this course in January. Ran to a similar level when fifth of 11 back here the following month and this step up in trip promises to suit as he goes hurdling, with yard going well ahead of his return.

Offered little making his first start when well-beaten tenth of 13 in bumper at Warwick in April. Off 7 months (has had a breathing operation) ahead of going up trip for his hurdling debut. Others preferred.

Placed on second of 3 starts in bumpers but beaten a fair way in maiden at Doncaster (19.4f) on hurdling debut in March. Probably needed the outing after 9 months off when down the field here (15.8f, soft) 15 days ago, though needs this run for a handicap mark.

Maiden winner on the Flat in France and fairly useful form over hurdles as a 4-y-o. After a year off, below that level on stable debut when third of 4 in a Leicester maiden (15.5f, soft) 20 days ago, but he could fare better with that run behind him.

Didn't offer much in points but showed a bit of encouragement when seventh of 11 in bumper at Chepstow on Rules debut 16 days ago. Bred to be suited by this longer distance starting off over hurdles, though he could be one for further down the line.

Didn't kick on from his bumper debut last season, but showed plenty to work on when third of 5 in novice at Sedgefield (19.8f, good to soft) on hurdles bow a month ago, form boosted by the front pair since. Task is now to build on his latest effort.

€32,000 3-y-o, £52,000 4-y-o, Zanzibari gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler/chaser Aime Desjy and prolific French chaser winner Victoire Desjy. Runner-up sole outing in Irish points (Apr 2024) and the market could be informative on his Rules debut.
Tailed off in a Hereford bumper on first start and fared little better when eleventh of 13 at Warwick next time. Needs to leave those efforts well behind as she goes hurdling after 7 months off.

£70,000 3-y-o, Walk In The Park mare. Sister to fair hurdler Delante, stayed 2½m, and French chaser Laskof. Dam French hurdler/chase winner (2m-2¼m winner). Irish point winner at the second attempt (Dec 2024) and she's one to note on Rules debut.
Carlotamix mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Allavina and fair hurdler One Cool Scorpion. Dam unraced. May just be better for this first experience.

This could go the way of COASTAL COMMAND, who has shaped encouragingly when third on both of his starts so far, including when behind a pair of promising types at Uttoxeter on his hurdling debut in October. He can build on his reappearance run to open his account, though Maccarellu isn't taken lightly on his second outing for Venetia Williams. Lisnamurrican completes the shortlist.
