Jack Hobbs gelding. Dam (h116), 2½m/2¾m hurdle winner (probably stayed 3m), half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 3m) Pyleigh Lady. Unplaced sole start in point bumpers (Mar 2025).
Half-brother to 6 winners, including useful hurdler/very smart chaser Al Dancer (2m-25f winner, by Al Namix) and fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser Gold Dancer (17f-2½m winner, by Doctor Dino). Lots to like on paper. Tongue tie fitted for Rules debut.
Runner-up both completed starts in Irish points and some encouragement first 2 starts in bumpers (fair form) but was well held switched to hurdling over C&D last month.

Bought for £30,000 after finishing runner-up on completed start in Irish points (Apr 2025) but showed only minor promise when sixth of 14 in a Fontwell maiden (17.7f) on hurdling debut 27 days ago. Probably one for later on.

Made the frame in the spring on his last 2 starts in Irish points but achieved little on his recent Rules debut over C&D.

here were positives to glean from his debut third in an Exeter bumper for Rod Millman on New Year's Day. Has failed to build on that in 2 starts for new yard, though, and needs to raise his game now switched to hurdles.

Green when mid-field in a Hereford bumper for Nigel Twiston-Davies and well held completed start over hurdles.

€140,000 3-y-o, Flemensfirth gelding. Closely related to a winner, and half-brother to numerous winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chase winner Lady Adare. Appealing newcomer for top yard and one to note in the betting.
Improved from debut when chasing home the impressive Paul Nicholls-trained winner in an Exeter bumper in December 2023. Subsequent absence is a concern, but yard has been among the winners of late and it'll be interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting.

£60,000 5-y-o, Milan gelding. Half-brother to smart hurdler Gwennie May Boy and fair hurdler/chase winner Cast's Tasha. Off mark in Irish points at the second attempt (Dec 2024) and shaped with plenty of encouragement when third in 9-runner maiden over C&D last month, rallying. Sure to progress.

Gentlewave gelding. Dam (c66/h89), maiden jumper (stayed 21f), half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chase winner (stayed 25f) Imperial Alcazar. Pulled up both starts in Irish points in spring 2025 and watching briefing advised.
Some encouragement in a bumper/novice hurdle but is probably one for handicaps later on.

£25,000 Milan gelding. Well held in a pair of novice hurdles 9 months apart and will be of more interest in handicaps after this run.

MODERN MAN shaped with plenty of encouragement on his hurdling debut when third in a strong-looking maiden over C&D last month and, with improvement forthcoming, he has to be considered the one to beat. Brisky Dancer and Grand Vendetta are a pair of likely types of paper however, and strong market support for either would put a slightly different slant on matters.
