Half-brother to 2 winners on the Flat and justified favouritism when proving 1¾ lengths too strong for Crack Ops on debut in a Huntingdon bumper (15.8f, good to firm) last month. 7 lb worse off with the latter now, but he's open to improvement and may well confirm those placings.

£8,000 3-y-o, Highland Reel gelding. Dam 2½m-25f hurdle/chase winner. Yard can certainly ready one first time out and it will be interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting.

Half-brother to 4 winners on Flat and pulled clear of the rest when chasing home Bankatary on his introduction at Huntingdon. 7 lb pull offers hope that he will turn the tables here, but the winner did well under the circumstances and arguably possesses the greater scope for improvement.

Australia gelding. Dam, lightly raced on Flat, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (2m winner) Gealach. Lots to like on paper and it will look significant if there's confidence behind him in the betting.

Silverwave filly. Half-sister to Alinehowe. Dam unraced out of winning hurdler/chaser around 2½m in France Pennylane. Yard's strike rate in bumpers in recent seasons is modest and this one is probably more of a long-term prospect.

It was pleasing to see BANKATARY come from a less-than-ideal position when getting the better of Crack Ops on debut at Huntingdon and while it should be closer between them given that the latter is now armed with a 7 lb pull, James Owen's charge is taken to emerge on top once again. Indeed, he is open to improvement and looks a decent prospect. Faithful Guardian is the most appealing of the newcomers and is one to monitor closely in the betting.
