Opened his account at the fourth attempt for this yard over C&D in March and good third back here next time. Safely held when last of 4 on return at Ludlow last month, but that run was probably needed and he could have a part to play returned to this venue.

Hurdles winner for Terence O'Brien at Clonmel in January, but there were very few positives to glean from his first run for this yard at Ludlow and needs to get back on track now switched to fences.

Two of his half-a-dozen wins over fences have been gained over this C&D, but he went off the boil during second half of last season and his efforts since returning from a break in September have lacked spark.

Went close sole start between the flags and showed promise over hurdles last season, albeit without really progressing. Little impact on chase debut at Uttoxeter in September and now tried in blinkers.

Back on the scoresheet when taking a handicap hurdle at Worcester in August and followed up in this sphere at the same course the following month. Struggled there last time, but the easy surface probably counted against him and he'll have a serious chance granted faster ground this time.

Capitalised on a much-reduced mark when striking at Market Rasen in April 2024. Below par thereafter and 15-month absence is naturally concern, but he's dangerous to discount having been given a real chance by the handicapper.

Got off the mark at Market Rasen in January, but she has offered little in 3 subsequent starts and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Has his quirks, but was on a going day with the visor refitted (on again here) when going close in a handicap hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good) recently. Remains on a good mark back up 3 lb now returned to fences and should have a say if again in the mood.

Dual 2m hurdles winner for Matt Sheppard in 2023/24, but yet to fire for present yard and failed to land a below in first-time cheekpieces on recent chase debut at Worcester.

Bits and pieces of decent hurdles form to his name, including when fourth of 9 in a Uttoxeter handicap (2½m, good) in June. Barely beaten a rival home in 3 subsequent starts, though, and hopes now pinned on the switch to fences proving to be the catalyst for a step back in the right direction.

Poor handicap chaser who ran out when last seen at Worcester during the summer. Readily passed over.

Sole win from 27 career starts was gained in a Thurles handicap chase for Robert Tyner almost 2 years ago. Has fallen a fair way in the weights since, but with good reason having failed to trouble the judge in 8 starts for present connections.

In the hope 'soft' doesn't appear in the going description, HOBIE gets the nod. He is just 3 lb above the mark off which he opened his chase account at Worcester in September and it's probably best not to read too much into his latest effort, as the ground was against him that day. Chestnut Pete should come on for his run at Ludlow where he was returning from a five-month absence and the 10-y-o is second choice ahead of Gerard Mentor, who was just touched off over hurdles last time.
