Improved when second of 10 in maiden at Lingfield (8f, AW) and didn't need to be at best when winning 9-runner novice at Leicester (7f, good to soft, 11/10) 18 days ago, putting her experience to good use, scoring with bit in hand. Likely more to come back up in trip on handicap debut.

Cheekpieces on for first time on first run since leaving Edward Bethell (had lost his way for the yard) when thirteenth of 14 in handicap at this course (6f, 33/1) 18 days ago. Remains to be seen if he fares any better significantly up in trip in a change of headgear.

Has become well-treated but was easy to back when eighth of 12 in handicap at this course (10.2f, 9/1) 15 days ago, not ideally placed and not given at all a hard time. Would prefer more pace on paper dropped back to 1m but merits plenty of respect, especially if market speaks in his favour.

Consistent type ran to a similar level as previously on all-weather debut when creditable third of 10 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 9 days ago, not fully settle and shaping as if needing a stiffer test. Kept to 1m with hood back on and should give another good account.

Found some improvement to finish fourth in a Kempton novice (fifth an improved winner next time out) and ran her best race at huge odds when fourth over the same C&D in September. That form has substance and she could improve now handicapping.

Both wins have come on all-weather (7f) for previous connections. First run since leaving Ed Dunlop when eighth of 12 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 18/1) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. after 4 weeks off. Back over 1m and ought to be closer to form here.

Veteran is a 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Redcar in October. Best not judged too harshly on latest fifth of 9 in handicap at Musselburgh (9f, good) 19 days ago, not ideally placed. Should give his running back down in trip.

A tricky puzzle given the lack of obvious pace in a small field. SONG N DANCE got off the mark over 7f last time and she may be able to improve back over 1m on handicap debut, while Forest Caper and Sea Legend are both handicapped to win races and are feared if things fall right. Handicap debutante Why Because showed solid form in novice/maiden company and she completes the shortlist.
