Won the Grade 2 Cleeve here last winter. Not up the Stayers' at the Festival on final start but should be a lot more competitive back in handicap company on reappearance (second in this race last year).

Shaped well in handicaps at the Punchestown and Galway Festivals and leaves the impression it's only a matter of time before he's winning a nice prize. Tops the shortlist.

Consistent type (yet to finish out of the frame from 12 starts over hurdles) who won here in April. Creditable third (Tiny Tetley second) of 13 at Haydock the following month and returns with his stable in flying form.

Useful for Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole, winning 3m Haydock handicap in the mud last December. Had wind surgery ahead of reappearance for Dan Skelton after a £24,000 sale in May. It'll be interesting to see how strong the betting vibes are.

Won 4 times in a very productive 2024/25 campaign and failed by only a neck to land another win at Haydock (3m, good to soft) in May, with the reopposing Long Draw narrowly behind in third. First start for 168 days but has gone well fresh before.

Won a novice handicap chase at this meeting last year and ended his season with excellent second of 30 in Topham at Aintree (21f, good) in April. Off 6 months ahead of hurdle return but has run well fresh before.

Dual bumper winner who landed a 22.5f Navan maiden hurdle in cheekpieces (retained) when last seen in March. Will stay 3m and brings unexposed potential to this handicap debut/reappearance.

Made it 2-3 since joining Gordon Elliott when landing a big-field listed handicap at the Galway Festival (22.5f, good to soft) in August. The step up to 3m could bring about more improvement and much respected for last year's winning yard.

Useful staying chaser for this yard, including runner-up in 2024 Scottish Grand National. Remote fifth back hurdling at Uttoxeter on reappearance and needs to leave that well behind.

Useful effort to win a course handicap chase last winter. Better effort back hurdling this autumn when second of 3 in Thurles conditions event 9 days ago. Races off 1 lb lower than the mark he defied over fences here. Not discounted.

Bumper winner who landed maiden/novice hurdles at Fontwell last winter. Not at his best in a couple of warm handicaps last spring but his mark has eased as a result and he reappears with the Chris Gordon stable among the winners.

Arrives on the up having won a Kilbeggan maiden and Roscommon handicap around 3m in recent months. The first-time cheekpieces he wore at Roscommon are retained. One of several Irish-trained runners in this with plenty to recommend them.

Progressive since joining Emmet Mullins, winning a handicap hurdle and maiden chase at Ballinrobe. Also second of 18 in 3m Galway handicap hurdle in between. Hooded first time here. Likely capable of even better for this good stable.

3m winner at Doncaster in March and bettered that form when third of 17 in a valuable handicap at Uttoxeter (23f, soft) later that month. Given a break since a poor run behind a few of these at Haydock in May.

Off the mark in Tipperary maiden hurdle 19 days ago. Hard to argue his opening handicap mark looks generous but he has unexposed potential now moving up in trip.

14:55 Cheltenham - 25 October 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A strong Irish representation, with CHART TOPPER taken to build on his promising efforts in competitive events at the Punchestown and Galway Festivals. Gordon Elliott's Winning Smut won a big-field listed handicap at Galway and is feared most with this step up to 3m promising to play to his strengths. Quantum Quest and Chance Another One also arrive with progressive profiles. Long Draw may prove best of the British.
