Very smart performer in US but has run too freely in both starts on these shores, latest when 5¾ lengths sixth of 7 to Qirat in Sussex Stakes at Goodwood (8f, good) 80 days ago. Since joined new yard and needs to settle better to take a hand here.

Returned to somewhere near best form when taking 6-runner listed race at Sandown (8f, heavy, 6/4) last month but faces different conditions here and this contest demands much more.

Back to form with a bang as a 4-y-o, winning a Doncaster listed race and Group 2 Sandown Mile this spring. However, well below best at Longchamp latest and finished well held in this contest last term.

Added to his fine course record when taking Queen Anne in June and arrives on back of creditable length fourth of 10 to Diego Velazquez in Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville (8f, good) 62 days ago. Must enter calculations.

Very smart gelding. Yet to reach best form this term but looked undone by longer trip when sixth to Ombudsman in Prince of Wales's Stakes at this course in June and has likely been aimed at this contest since (finished runner-up in last 2 renewals). Shortlisted.

Much improved for new yard this season, making it 3 wins from 4 starts when taking City of York Stakes (7/2) at York (7f, good to firm) 56 days ago by ½ length from Lake Forest. Asked a bigger question now but is not taken lightly.

Dual winner this term who returned to best form when short-head second of 10 to Ridari in Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp (8f, good to soft, 36/10) 14 days ago. However, in deeper waters here and finished well held in this contest 12 months ago.

High-class colt who won the Irish 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace as a 3-y-o. Endured a series of near-misses this term, latest when short-head second of 12 in Prix du Moulin de Longchamp at Longchamp (8f, good to firm) 41 days ago and looks sure to make his presence felt again.

Irish 1000 Guineas winner last season who has added 4 further Group 1 prizes (all confined to her own sex) to her tally since, posting a personal best when taking 9-runner Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket (8f, good) 14 days ago. Steps into open company now but demands plenty of respect.

Top-class colt who should have won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket but made amends with easy victories in the Irish 2000 Guineas/St James's Palace Stakes, showing an excellent turn of foot on both occasions. Clearly wasn't 100% at Goodwood last time and looks the one to beat.

Won the Group 1 Sun Chariot last season before solid third in this contest and made a highly encouraging return when runner-up in the Bet365 Mile at Sandown. Back from 5 months off when sixth in Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp (9.9f, good to soft) 13 days ago and is entitled to build on that.

Dual scorer last term who returned to best form when neck third of 12 in Prix du Moulin at Longchamp (8f, good to firm) 41 days ago. This is a deeper contest but he looks to be the yard's main hope of adding another Group 1 to their burgeoning tally.

Acquitted herself well when making the frame in a trio of Group 1 contests this summer but has not been in same form more recently and is hard to recommend. Tongue strap on first time.

FIELD OF GOLD looked all at sea at Goodwood last time but he produced a dominant display in the St James's Palace Stakes here previously and the return to this venue can see him back to his best. Rosallion has endured a frustrating campaign but it's hard to envisage him not being involved at the business end again, whilst Facteur Cheval (excellent record in this event) and Fallen Angel (in the form of her life) are also much respected.
