Smart filly ran a cracker on reappearance when ¾-length second to Waardah in Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood. Far from disgraced when fourth in the Group 2 Park Hill at Doncaster (14.5f, good) last month but faces a much tougher task in a top-end 1½m Group 1.

Quickly confirmed herself a smart prospect when winning a Group 3 on her return before following up in the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock. Lost little in defeat behind the impressive Minnie Hawk in the Yorkshire Oaks last time and remains capable of better, for all she would prefer easier ground.

Very smart filly who capped a fine campaign with victory in this race last year. Better than ever when runner-up to Calandagan in the King George this season and didn't have things go her way in first-time cheekpieces (retained) when seventh in the Arc. The one to beat back against her own sex.

Expensive Frankel filly made a belated winning debut earlier this season and quickly improved to make it three wins from 4 starts when successful in Group 2 at Deauville (12.5f). Not in the same form on softer ground in the Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (14f) and may fall short again in a Group 1.

Runner-up behind Barnavara in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes and unlucky not to reverse that form in first-time cheekpieces when a close third in the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp (9.9f) 13 days ago. Headgear retained and there could well be more to come on first start over 1½m.

Smart mare with a fine record and she looked most progressive when landing a hat-trick in the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet (9.9f) in August. Faced a tough task back against the males when ninth in the Arc but makes plenty of appeal here.

Bred in the purple and finished 6 lengths to subsequent 1000 Guineas winner Desert Flower in Fillies' Mile at Newmarket on final start as a juvenile. Well held returning from an 11-month absence at the Curragh last month and will need to take a significant step forward for this longer trip.

Has developed into a smart filly this season, finishing runner-up in the Diane and third in the Prix Vermille (form has taken a few knocks). Didn't fully settle over a longer trip when seventh in the Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp (13.9f) and will need to improve to land a first Group 1.

Has readily confirmed the promise shown as a juvenile, storming clear for a listed success at Goodwood prior to finding another chunk of improvement when upped in trip to win the Group 2 Lillie Langtry (14f). Should prove fully effective back over 1½m and merits respect in her bid for the hat-trick.

Has performed creditably in Group 1s, fourth in the Epsom Oaks and Pretty Polly prior to chasing home Minnie Hauk (flattered by the proximity to the winner) in the Irish Oaks. As good as ever when fourth in the Prix De l'Opera (9.9f) earlier this month and should give her running again.

Forecasts

Kalpana (11/8), Estrange (6/1), Quisisana (6/1), Waardah (8/1), Danielle (11/1), Wemightakedlongway (14/1), One Look (14/1), Bedtime Story (18/1), Latakia (25/1), Ballet Slippers (40/1)

14:45 Ascot - 18 October 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

KALPANA finished her season on a high with victory in this race last year and is fancied to repeat the feat following another fine campaign. Quisisana was highly progressive against her own sex before finding things too hot in the Arc and she's feared, while Estrange has won four of her 6 starts and remains capable of better, for all connections would have liked more rain. Hat-trick seeking Waardah is a filly on the up and she's no back number now tackling a Group 1.
