Veteran ran well on previous chase start here. Won a veterans' handicap chase at Wexford in April. Last of 5 in a Grade 2 chase at Gowran Park (28/1) 8 days ago, proving too free after six months off. Should be more suited by this return to handicap company under a good-value conditional.

Won this race off a 2 lb lower mark last season. Had been in good heart, with runner-up finishes in hurdle and flat races but ran below par when 8th of 13 in a handicap chase at Listowel (8/1) 21 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back.

Won a 2½m handicap chase at Kilbeggan in June then nose second over this trip at Killarney (17f) before finishing tenth of 13 at Listowel (14/1) 21 days ago when going off too hard. Capable on his day but needs to recapture form.

Useful hurdler at best. Jumped poorly on latest chase start (final run for Peter Fahey) prior to finishing eighth of 10 over hurdles on stable debut at Wexford (13/2) in May, travelled fluently but weakened late. Hood back on after nearly 5 months off but remains with a bit to prove over fences.

Won a handicap chase at Kilbeggan and placed third at Wexford in the summer. Ran well (found less than looked likely) at Galway (22.5f) but found run of good form coming to a halt when ninth of 13 in handicap chase at Killarney (12/1) 50 days ago. May do better back down in trip after a break.

Long-standing maiden who was in good heart this spring/summer before falling 5 out at Sligo (3/1) 11 days ago when making rare jumping lapse. In deeper waters here but should give his running if none the worse for that fall.

Struggled for form in chases before finishing sixth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (22/1) 37 days ago, making little impression. Mark is falling but has shown few signs of capitalising.

Second at Ballinrobe and fourth at Killarney in August but finished 11th of 13 in handicap chase at Listowel (25/1) 21 days ago. Tongue strap now removed but he's generally far more miss than hit.

Forecasts

Luminous Light (11/4), She's A Fine Wine (10/3), The Big Doyen (9/2), In The Trenches (17/2), The Banger Doyle (11/1), Gaelic Arc (12/1), Rebel Gold (12/1), The Dara Man (14/1), Presenting Lad (16/1)

16:37 Cork - 12 October 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

LUMINOUS LIGHT, a winner over both hurdles and fences including at this course earlier this year, is still lightly raced as a chaser and he can triumph if jumping with more fluency than when runner-up in a Tramore novice chase last time. Veteran Rebel Gold should appreciate this return to handicap company after finding a recent Grade 2 too hot, while She's A Fine Wine drops in trip following a break and may be capable of bouncing back to the form she showed over the summer.
