12f Flat winner got off the mark over hurdles when winning a Hereford novices' handicap and shaped a clear second best (having raced up with a good gallop) when third over C&D in May. Flying too high on reappearance at Plumpton last month and could be more competitive back down in grade.

Hit the frame on several occasions for Ben Pauling. Changed hands for £9,500 prior to reappearance (needed the run) and was back to his best with a smooth-travelling success in a 7-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good to firm) 2 weeks ago. May follow up off 4 lb higher in the same grade.

Found improvement to resume winning ways on handicap debut at Bangor (17f) in July. Below-par on soft ground next time but quickly back on track over a longer trip when third in a 12-runner handicap at Worcester (20f, good) 36 days ago. Slightly sharper test no issue and should go well again.

Half-brother to yard's class hurdler The New One. Won a bumper at Newton Abbot last September and has placed on both hurdle starts, bettering his hurdling debut when runner-up in a 2m Worcester maiden last month. Entitled to improve now handicapping over a longer trip.

Fair form when third on hurdle debut in France in May but well below that level on next couple of starts. Changed hands for €2,500 subsequently but offered little on debut for new connections at Fontwell following 13 weeks off. Will need to leave that form well behind now tackling handicaps.

Well beaten at long odds on three starts in maiden hurdles and has rejoined previous yard for handicap debut. Well out of the handicap and needs to improve significantly.

Forecasts

The Expensive One (5/4), Sharp Glance (13/8), Fourtowns (9/2), Renoir (8/1), Piecederesistance (14/1), La Lolita (20/1), Avada Kedavra (20/1), Believe A Little (125/1), Lady Wilhelmina (150/1)

16:25 Stratford - 6 October 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FOURTOWNS was right back to his best with a smooth-travelling success in this grade at Fontwell 2 weeks ago and may be able to make it back-to-back wins for new connections. Sharp Glance has conditions to suit and should go well again, while The Expensive One may improve upped in trip on handicap debut. Piecederesistance comes with risks attached but he wasn't beaten far in a race that's worked out well on his latest hurdles start and could be interesting if the market speaks in his favour.
