Smart and consistent sprinter who deservedly resumed winning ways following a series of solid efforts in defeat when readily landing the Beverley Bullet (5f, good) at the end of August. Just touched off in a Newbury Group 3 since and this 4-y-o looks nailed-on for another big run.

Came into his own during autumn of 2-y-o campaign and has done likewise this season, finishing fourth of 19 here back from a break last month prior to landing the Ayr Silver Cup (6f, soft) in good style. Yet to win at 5f, but he's clearly not short of speed and another bold show is likely.

Has proved both consistent and progressive this season, yet to finish out of the first 3 from 5 starts in handicaps. Narrow success in a 5f Doncaster handicap last month represented another step forward, but an even bigger one will be needed now chancing his arm in listed company.

Smart at his best, landing the Temple Stakes at Haydock in 2024. His fifth in the C&D King Charles III at the Royal meeting was by far his best effort of this season, but generally performed below that level since and this 5-y-o will need to bounce back if he's to take a hand in the finish.

Signed off last season with a good second in this race and left reappearance effort in the Palace House at Newmarket during the spring well behind when landing a listed race back from a break at Ayr (5.5f, soft) recently. Largely consistent at this level and she's a strong candidate.

Consistent performer who has enhanced her good record at Beverley with back-to-back 5f victories at that course in recent weeks. However, likeable though she is, this step up in class will probably find her out.

Bagged a couple of 5f Goodwood handicaps in 2024 and added another over the same C&D on return in May. She then struggled tried at this level at Ayr, though, and the return to Goodwood/handicap company resulted in another low-key display when last seen in July. Yard also runs Kassaya.

Lightly-raced filly who resumed with an impressive 5f Sandown handicap success in July. Excuses when fifth in this grade at Chester next time, but she was seemingly beaten fair and square (again in listed company) at York last month.

Looked pretty good when winning first 2 starts of her career last season, but she hasn't kicked on in a handful of handicaps this time round and is almost certainly biting off more than she can chew here.

Better than ever when winning handicaps at Sandown (soft) and this C&D (good) in August/September. There were valid excuses for last weekend's Haydock defeat (drying ground and a poor position in the centre of the track), but she'll need a clear career-best to take this in any case.

13:50 Ascot - 4 October 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Last year's runner-up BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND is taken to go one better on the back of a dominant display at Ayr 15 days ago. That was just her second start of the season, so she arrives here fresher than most and her versatility ground-wise means that she won't be inconvenienced by whatever the weather has in store. Shagraan, another consistent type who goes on most ground-types, looks rock-solid and he is feared most ahead of upwardly mobile 3-y-o Candy.
