Bumper winner who landed the odds on second run over hurdles at Newbury (16.3f, good) in March. Improved when runner-up at Southwell next time and, though well held in a valuable Sandown handicap when last seen, he sets a good standard back in novice company here. Has undergone a wind op.

Fair hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Chepstow in March. 11/2, creditable second of 8 in novice hurdle at this C&D (good to soft) 20 days ago, no match for winner.

No show in bumpers and pulled up on hurdles debut at Worcester in July. Likely to struggle once again, unless the subsequent wind op has had the desired effect.

Blinkered when winning pair of Wolverhampton handicaps at up to 1¾m for Archie Watson on the level this year (all 13 runs in that sphere have been on synthetics). Cheekpieces refitted for hurdles debut and he's bred for this game, but it's probably best to look elsewhere this time all the same.

No show in 2 bumpers for this yard prior to struggling in a couple of runs over hurdles for Steph Cameron last autumn. At The Oche is presumably the stable No 1.

Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in 5-runner bumper at Worcester a year ago. Got no further than the third flight (unseated rider) back from 10 months off at Warwick recently and he's readily passed over.

Landed a 12-runner Doncaster bumper (16.6f, good) on debut in March, despite looking green. The race may have come too soon when down the field in a valuable race at Newbury later that month and he's interesting switched to hurdles back from a break here.

Fair form when runner-up twice over 15f on the Flat in France and made a winning start for this yard/over hurdles in a soft-ground C&D novice earlier this month, keeping on well after being left in the lead 2 out. More needed, but she's unexposed and may well have a part to play.

Didn't shape badly when third of 12 in a Hereford bumper on debut last December, but he didn't make much of an impact in 2 runs over hurdles during the spring.

Seven-race maiden on the Flat for Andrew Balding/John Gallagher. Best form in that sphere was at around 1m, so stamina is far from copper-bottomed now switched to hurdles and, in any case, John Barbour is presumably the stable No 1.

Failed to pull up any trees between the flags, but there was certainly promise in his recent hurdles debut fifth of 14 at Worcester (2m, soft) and he should do better in time.

JOHN BARBOUR finished out with the washing in a valuable novices' handicap at Sandown on his final run of last season, but he looked pretty promising prior to that and is taken to get back on track by making a winning reappearance here. At The Oche, successful on the first of his two bumper starts last term, will be a threat if his jumping passes the test now sent hurdling, while Jaminska is clear third choice ahead of Best Night.
