Justified support back up in trip with first-time cheekpieces enlisted at Fontwell (19f, good) recently, making all for a comfortable success. Remains feasibly treated under a 7 lb penalty and will be a threat if again allowed his own way in front.

Fair bumper winner who made it third time lucky over hurdles in 2½m Wetherby maiden in March. Followed up in good style when landing a 5-tunner Warwick novice (19f, good) the following month and, though absent since, this mare has to be taken seriously on handicap debut.

The most recent of his 3 hurdles wins was gained back in April 2024, but kept the mistakes to a minimum when finding just one too good at Worcester (2½m, good) recently and a reproduction of that would put him in the picture.

Sole hurdles success was gained in a Wetherby novices' handicap for Tom Lacey on Boxing Day 2023. Shaped pretty well all 3 starts for new yard last summer, but offered little back from a 11 months off/first run following a wind op at Cartmel in July and now has a fair bit to prove.

Capitalised on a falling mark back in this sphere when landing a 14-runner C&D handicap in June. Below par next time, but latest effort was eye-catching and she has to enter calculations.

Got back on track when fourth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Stratford (19f, good to soft) in March. Hasn't managed to build on that in 2 subsequent appearances, but now 2 lb below 2024 C&D winning mark, so he's dangerous to discount.

Winner of back-to-back Stratford novices for Dan Skelton last June and, having struggled initially for this yard, he has returned to form the last twice, latterly making it 3-4 at Stratford with an all-the-way success in an 18.7f handicap (good). 5 lb rise looks fair and he's one to consider.

Bagged back-to-back handicaps at Southwell and Kempton during the spring, the latter gained off a mark 4 lb higher than this. Largely out of sorts since, but should come on for his recent spin at Worcester where, although again below par, he was returning from a 12-week break.

Point winner who showed ability in maiden hurdles prior to falling at the last (looked held at the time) on handicap debut at Kilbeggan in May. Failed to make an impact over fences next time, but this Irish import is of strong back hurdling for new connections.

Won a trio of hurdles for Olly Murphy in November/December, but ended time for that yard on a downer and has shown next to nothing in 2 runs for new yard.

By no means disgraced when sixth of 16 on sole start for Gordon Elliott in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle (18.9f, good to soft) in July, but failed to pull up any trees when previously in the care of this yard and he's probably worth taking on.

Allowed to build up an insurmountable lead when winning an amateur riders' event over 25f at Catterick last December. Best effort since when runner-up in a 19.3f handicap at the same course in February, but well held at Musselburgh the following month and entitled to need the run.

16:10 Uttoxeter - 16 September 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Several to consider in this competitive race with the vote going to CALLIN BATON ROUGE, who scored over C&D during the summer and caught the eye (again over this C&D) last time, making late headway under considerate handling having been left with too much to do. Jhentong Enki showed ability for Paul Nolan in Ireland and is very interesting on debut for the Ben Pauling yard, while the hat-trick seeking Audacious Annie and Goodwin, who returned to form at Fontwell nine days ago, also have claims.
