Course winner had some solid handicap form last season and again looked capable of winning in this grade at the beginning of the season. However, he clearly wasn't 100% on either start back in May. Interesting to see if the market expects him to bounce back following a 4-month absence.

Mixed in much better company earlier in the season but has disappointed on two starts following a breathing operation. Looks well handicapped now and may prove a big player in this grade if a first-time tongue strap has the desired effect.

Runner-up on handicap debut over C&D and wasn't disgraced in the Epsom Dash in June. Back on the up in lesser company subsequently, going with plenty of enthusiasm and seeing out his race well when winning an 8-runner handicap at Chester (5.1f, good to firm) 50 days ago. Could progress again.

Had been shaping up quite nicely and just about a career best when runner-up at Thirsk at the beginning of last month. Not in the same form at Musselburgh 6 days on, a wide trip and another quick turnaround offering some mitigation. Could bounce back with Billy Loughnane taking over in the saddle.

Prolific upon joining present stable during second half of 2024 and returned to form back on easy ground when runner-up at Goodwood earlier this month and wasn't disgraced upped in grade at Ascot (5f, good) last time. Back down in grade and one to be interested in if the rain arrives.

Completed a hat-trick in June/July and improved again in defeat when second in a 5-runner handicap at Bath (5f, firm) last month. Found run of good form coming to a halt at Chester last time, poorly placed after getting behind early on. Needs a career-best but this track should suit better.

Landed a hat-trick last season and would have recorded a third victory of this campaign had he kept straighter at Newmarket (5f) last month. Arrives in good heart and the application of cheekpieces should help.

Useful sprinter at his best and having lost his way for Rebecca Menzies, got back in the groove on first start for Jim Goldie landing a 14-runner handicap at Haydock (5f) 9 days ago. Yard excels with this type and he remains well-treated on his old form.

Arrives on the same mark as when winning this race last year. Steo back in the right direction when third at Yarmouth in July but was again undone by a sluggish start at Southwell last month. Would be competitive at his best but recent stalls issues sound a note of caution.

Front-runner who made all at Beverley (5f) in July but was well held over the same C&D the following month, when unable to dominate. Best not judged on most recent run at Catterick where he anticipated the start but this looks very competitive.

Landed a double at Chepstow in July and remains in good heart. Ran a cracker when third in a higher grade at Newbury and again hit the frame in an 8-runner handicap on heavy ground at Goodwood earlier this month, going with enthusiasm. Should give another good account.

Maiden posted his best effort in handicaps to finish third in a competitive 15-runner York sprint in July but couldn't back that up at Chester last month, never involved from off the pace. Previous form gives him a chance under a valuable 5 lb claimer.

Won a Hamilton maiden last September but has regressed, hanging badly right when trailing the field at York in July. Now tried in cheekpieces but hard to be confident on what she's shown this season.

Winner of a lesser event over C&D earlier in the season prior to finishing third behind Azureinthejungle at Beverley in June. Not in the same form following 7-weeks off when well beaten at Pontefract 39 days ago and faces tough task upped in grade.

Patiently-ridden sort is in better heart than recent form figures suggest, again not seen to best effect when denied a clear run at Haydock (5f) 9 days ago. 3 lb out of the handicap now but could outrun his odds if things fall right.

Highly competitive but ARNHEM still looks well-treated on old form, having made a winning start for Jim Goldie (who excels with this type) at Haydock 9 days ago. Marching Mac has shaped promisingly in recent starts and would be interesting if the rain arrives, while Roach Power has mixed it in higher grades this season and arrives in top form. Of the rest, Trilby is well-handicapped if a tongue strap has the desired effect, while there could still be more to come from 3-y-o sprinter Acrisius.
