90,000 gns yearling, St Mark's Basilica colt offered something to work with when fifth of 10 in novice at Kempton (7f, 11/1) on debut 24 days ago, just lacking know-how at a crucial stage. Should improve.

Pinatubo colt. Half-brother to 6f winner Dream Whisper. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner, closely related to very smart winner up to 1½m Old Persian. One to take seriously on debut for top connections, especially if market vibes are strong.

Easy to back and well held when fourth of 5 in maiden at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 7/2) on debut. That form doesn't look anything out of the ordinary and but he's well-bred and should know more this time.

Still in need of the experience when ninth of 12 in novice (150/1) at Windsor (6f, good) 5 days ago. One for handicaps over further.

Backed at long odds and showed clear signs of ability starting out in a Class 2 York novice (6f) and the form of his subsequent third at Newmarket has been boosted by the two that beat him. Has been gelded and makes appeal in a less competitive contest.

Plenty of quality in her pedigree but still green when tenth of 11 in maiden at Newbury (6f, good to firm, 25/1) 16 days ago, showing less than on debut. Needs more time and likely to be better off in handicaps.

Forecasts

Romeo Montague (11/8), Comic Strip (10/3), Beccadelli (7/2), Manly Fireball (11/2), Augustus Gloop (15/2), Magic Melissa (25/1), Back To Black (28/1), East India Breeze (100/1), Canderelly (100/1), Epsom Ali (150/1), Real Gold (300/1), Yea Boi (400/1)

13:58 Lingfield - 13 September 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ROMEO MONTAGUE has mixed it in much better company and may be able to get off the mark having been gelded since his good third at Newmarket in June. Beccadelli makes plenty of appeal on paper and is feared, particularly if the market vibes are positive, while Augustus Gloop showed ability on his debut and is open to improvement.
