Debut winner on heavy ground at Newmarket last autumn. Similar form when runner-up in pair of 7f novices subsequently but found things too competitive in the Sandringham on handicap debut. Has been given a break and this looks a much more realistic assignment.

Dual winner last season, proving a different proposition on more testing ground when winning 11-runner nursery at Newmarket (7f, soft, 12/1). Clearly won't mind any rain that falls and interesting to see if market expects her to progress again following a 10-month absence.

Progressive in 4 runs to date, improving for the longer trip on handicap debut when winning 12-runner handicap (4/1) at Haydock (7.2f, good) in May. Beat a next time winner with a bit in hand that day and could progress again on first start following a break/breathing operation.

Off the mark for the season in a 3-runner handicap at Chepstow (7f) in July but found things much more competitive when tenth of 16 in handicap at York (7f, good to firm, 9/1) 48 days ago. May fall short again in similar company.

Fairly useful handicapper, placed once this season when 1½ lengths third at Saint-Cloud (7f) in June but below form at Deauville on final start for G. Hernon. Something to find on bare form but joins a yard with few equals when it comes to improving horses.

Night of Thunder filly who held an Oaks entry earlier this year. Best effort in handicaps with cheekpieces on for first time (removed) when seventh in an 18-runner handicap at York (7f). Ideally wants further but still looks interesting dropped into this grade.

Chased home a useful sort in a novice at Kempton (7f) in December and bumped into another when second of 8 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in January. Could well improve for top yard on turf/handicap debut.

Promising winner at Wolverhampton in June and far from disgraced on handicap debut when third of 5 in handicap at Goodwood (8f, good to firm, 8/1) 21 days ago, never looking comfortable on the track. Drops back to 7f and could be worth another chance.

Made a very sound start for her new stable, supplementing her breakthrough Wetherby victory at Yarmouth (7f) in July. Bounced back to run well upped in grade when fifth of 18 in handicap (66/1) at York (7f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Should give her running back in calmer waters.

Won a 7f maiden at Kempton on second start in May. Found out under a penalty next time and fared no better on handicap bow when eighth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 28/1) 33 days ago. Back down in trip for turf debut but has work to do off this mark.

Purple Rainbow (9/4), Tropical Heat (5/2), Sunlit Uplands (11/4), Bint Mohaather (6/1), Sea Poetry (6/1), Brave Byreflection (17/2), Mollie Foster (10/1), Lady Mariko (12/1), Dancing Colours (14/1), Jakarta (22/1), Ocean Treaty (33/1), Miss Chester (80/1)

16:50 Sandown - 12 September 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A competitive race for the grade. PURPLE RAINBOW held an Oaks entry earlier this season and while 7f may be short of her ideal, she could yet be able to defy this sort of mark following her best effort in handicaps in a deeper race at York last month. She's narrowly preferred to hat-trick seeking Tropical Heat who may continue her progression, while Dancing Colours chased home some useful sorts in novices and could be interesting on handicap/turf debut, with Sunlit Uplands also respected.
