Raced at 6f on good to firm, making a winning debut at Ayr in May. Come up short at listed/Group 1 level in his 2 outings since and a step up to 7f needs to spark improvement.

Maiden but a very useful one, placing 4 times in Group company, albeit he wasn't at his best when 6 lengths third in the Gimcrack at York (6f, good to firm) last month. The cheekpieces he wore on that occasion are quickly discarded now returning to 7f.

Overcame greenness to spring a 25/1 surprise on his 6f Newbury debut (good to firm) in early July. Given a bit of time since and his pedigree points to this trip suiting even better.

Progressive form, winning the valuable Convivial maiden at last month's York Ebor meeting (7f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. Definitely more to come.

750,000 gns Night of Thunder colt who looked a smart prospect when scoring comfortably on his 7f York debut in June. Looks more than capable of making his presence felt in a higher grade.

€165,000 purchase from a good family who is progressive, completing a hat-trick in 7f Glorious Goodwood nursery at the end of July. This demands more but he's well worth his place in a higher grade.

Stepped up on his Newmarket debut when seeing off 10 rivals over this C&D in July. More will be required here but he's yet another in the line-up who looks capable of better.

Hankelow (5/4), Frescobaldi (3/1), Catullus (7/2), Avicenna (11/2), Northern Champion (6/1), Do Or Do Not (13/2), Sunset On Leros (16/1), Sir Albert (18/1), Do Bronxs (50/1), Electrical (50/1)

Several likely improvers in an interesting listed event. FRESCOBALDI gets the vote for Aidan O'Brien on the back of his success in the Convivial maiden at the recent York Ebor meeting. Hankelow looked good on his debut at the end of June and may provide the main threat. Catullus and Northern Champion are other smart prospects in the line-up, while Do Or Do Not would be a threat to all if recapturing the pick of his Group-placed form from this summer.
