C&D winner showed solid form when winning a 9-runner handicap at Leicester (6f) and better than ever when ½-length second of 14 to Eternal Sunshine in handicap at this C&D (good, 9/2) 8 days ago, going with plenty of enthusiasm. Should continue to give a good account.

Impressive winner at Doncaster (6f) on his handicap debut in May but that form took another knock when ran poorly to finishing fifteenth of 17 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) 58 days ago. Remains to be seen if he can get back on track with headgear fitted following a short break.

Successful here in May and posted his best effort since when runner-up back over this C&D in July. Headgear back on when respectable 3 lengths fifth of 14 to Eternal Sunshine in handicap (14/1) at this C&D (good) 8 days ago, not helped by a slow start. Should remain competitive.

Resumed progress when winning over C&D on reappearance in April. Had been consistent over this trip since, including when placed in a higher grade but again failed to convince over 7f when sixth of 9 in handicap at Chepstow 30 days ago. Well-drawn and could run a big race over a strongly run 6f.

Won Goffs' Million on final juvenile start and improved to go close on 6f Chester reappearance in May. Bounced back to his best taking on his elders for the first time when winning 8-runner handicap at Windsor (6f) 19 days ago. Still lightly-raced for a sprinter and there could be more to come.

Below last winning mark and shaped as if back in top form when sixth of 18 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to soft, 33/1) 47 days ago, not much room over 1f out and finished well. Drawn near the likely pace and on a handy mark if things fall right.

Capitalised on a falling mark over C&D in July though he likely held a significant positional advantage on the favoured stands side rail. Ran as well as could be expected when sixth in the John Smith's Cup later that month. Has been freshened up and should give his running once again.

Winner at Bath in June and sold from Andrew Balding for 21,000 gns in July. Didn't improve on stable debut when fifth of 8 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 19 days ago and looks to have plenty on his plate in a better race.

C&D winner arrives in top form, 3 wins from 5 runs this year (twice successful over this trip) and lost little in defeat when runner-up behind a well-ridden rival at Haydock (7.2f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Low-mileage and remains one to be interested in.

Arrives in the form of his life having yet to finish out of the placings this season. Career best when winning 5-runner handicap at Epsom (6f, good to firm, 9/4) 22 days ago and entitled to be in the mix once again.

Has been kept busy but ran another fine race when runner-up at York and resumed winning ways returned to this trip, landing a 14-runner handicap at this track (good) 8 days ago by ½ length from Dark Cloud Rising, always holding on. Has a better draw on paper this time and should go well again.

4-time winner this season, as good as ever when scoring at Ripon (6f) last month. Wasn't disgraced when fifth in a 17-runner handicap over the same C&D in the Great St Wilfrid (finished second in his group) but may need to find improvement to defy this mark.

Doncaster winner on soft last autumn and step in the right direction returned to that track when respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good) 45 days ago. On a handy mark now but would prefer more testing ground.

On a long losing run but has shaped well this season from his falling handicap mark, again not ideally placed when eighth of 14 in handicap at Chepstow (6.1f, good, 5/1) 30 days ago. Not one to write off but draw could have been kinder.

Fairly exposed as a sprinter and didn't appear to see out the longer trip when fifth of 8 in handicap (7/1) at Haydock (7f, good to firm) 49 days ago. Reverts to sprinting but may prove the stable second-string (yard also saddle Musical Touch).

Shaped better than the result in a couple of handicaps prior to finishing a respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Doncaster in July. Best forgiven latest run where blindfold removed late and while he could yet be revitalised by this yard, this is a stronger race than he need contest.

16:35 Thirsk - 6 September 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

MUSICAL TOUCH is 1-1 over C&D and should get a nice tow into the race from an ideal draw. He's taken to resume winning ways back over 6f, with 3-y-o Diligently feared most having proved as good as ever when successful at Windsor last month. Of the rest, Juan Les Pins has shaped well from his falling handicap mark this season, though again may not be ideally drawn.
