Second to Castle Cove at Chester in June prior to going one better there 4 weeks later. Hampered before halfway and easy to ignore his subsequent Glorious Goodwood effort.

Useful performer who won in Qatar in March and has largely performed with credit in defeat in Britain this summer, including second in 9f Goodwood conditions event 29 days ago. A very smart performance will be needed from such a lofty mark, though.

Produced a career best to end a losing run down in grade at Newcastle in December but has struggled to get competitive in 2025, including only midfield (Castle Cove ahead of him) at Glorious Goodwood last month.

Built up good strike rate in France. Fair start to life in Britain when fourth at Chester (1¼m) in May but has failed to build on it with a tongue tie added twice since. The tongue tie is left off now.

Ended last season with a win in this race and took his C&D record to 2-2 when accounting for 7 rivals at the Eclipse meeting in July. Only nudged up 1 lb so likely to remain very competitive back from 8 weeks off.

C&D winner in June. 25/1, respectable ninth of 18 in John Smith's Cup at York (1¼m, good to firm) since but that underlines he needs a bit more from this sort of mark. Drawn widest, too.

3/1
Pinatubo colt with a progressive profile, making a successful handicap debut in the London Gold Cup at Newbury (1¼m, firm) in May. That race has typically proved strong form so a 6 lb rise may not stop him assuming he's fully primed for this first outing since.

Much improved to make a winning handicap debut/reappearance over 1¼m at Chester in June at the expense of Grey Cuban. Respectable sixth of 18 at Glorious Goodwood (1¼m, good) since and that first experience of a top-end handicap should aid his development.

Won at 2024 Glorious Goodwood when trained by Johnny Murtagh but operating below that level in 2025, including back at Glorious Goodwood for recent yard debut.

Excellent record on soft/heavy ground, particularly at Goodwood. Things didn't go his way at the Glorious meeting there last time. Likely still in form but probably best to look elsewhere unless the ground turns soft.

Goes well with cut in the ground, including a Newbury win last autumn. Creditable fourth in a Racing League handicap in July and heads into the closing months of the turf season a fresh horse. Any rain would boost his chance.

Most progressive since fitted with blinkers, winning C&D handicaps in recent weeks by 3 lengths and 4 lengths respectively. Another 9 lb higher now but there's probably more to come if the headgear continues to work.

15:00 Sandown - 30 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SADDADD hasn't been seen since his London Gold Cup success in May but that has once again turned out to be one of the strongest 3-y-o handicaps of the season and he can make light of a 6 lb rise and prove too strong for fellow 3-y-o Dangerman. The draw could have been kinder to Castle Cove but he's another low-mileage sort from a leading stable who likely has his best days ahead of him.
