Wootton Bassett colt out of a dam who won the Group 1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes. Needed the experience when fifth of 10 (one place ahead of Port of Spain) in a maiden at this course (7f, good to firm, 3/1) on debut 21 days ago and looks sure to improve now stepped up in trip.

Lope De Vega colt. Closely related to 6.3f winner Cold Hearted. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, sister to smart 1¼m winner Warm Heart out of very smart 6f/6.7f winner Sea Siren. Had finished runner-up in a barrier trial but still looked very green when well held on debut here (7f) in June. Should progress.

Attracted support and shaped well in defeat behind a hot pot with previous experience when second of 9 in maiden at Galway (8.3f, good to soft) on debut 28 days ago. Should improve and may well go one better here.

€130,000 yearling, St Mark's Basilica colt who is bred to need time and distance and he looked badly in need of the experience when sixth of 10 in maiden (12/1) at this course (7f, good to firm) on debut 21 days ago, not knocked about. Should do better faced with a stiffer test.

Appealing type on paper and ran green when fifth of 6 in maiden at Leopardstown (7.2f, good) on debut. Off 106 days and has been gelded in the interim. Could make more of an impact second time up.

Forecasts

Hawk Mountain (10/11), Perisher (9/4), Port Of Spain (7/2), Handshake (8/1), Star Chamber (20/1), Mr Vettori (50/1), Adel (50/1), Tiyadal (66/1)

13:45 Curragh - 30 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

PERISHER shaped like a future winner when only beaten by a well-backed favourite with previous experience on debut at Galway earlier this month and he may well go one better here. Hawk Mountain is bred in the purple and should progress from his debut fifth at this track, as should his stablemate Port of Spain who finished one place behind him that day.
