Smart and progressive sort is building up an excellent record, making it 3 wins from 6 starts with a career best when winning 17-runner handicap taking on his elders at Ascot (8f, good to firm) 27 days ago. This track provides a different test but merits plenty of respect back against his own age.

Completed AW hat-trick at Southwell in April and quickly recovered from a blip when running a cracker to finish fourth in the Britannia at Royal Ascot, making up plenty of ground having been ridden patiently. Still up to winning races off this sort of mark and is one to consider following a break.

Dual winner in France at 2 yrs (sold from P. Decouz €90,000 subsequently). Shaped well on yard/handicap debut and ran even better when fifth in the Britannia at Royal Ascot. No obvious excuses when well held over the same C&D last month but isn't ruled out if first-time cheekpieces do the trick.

Winner of Thirsk maiden and Newbury novice (both at 7f) before finishing a clear second dropped to 6f for his handicap bow at Salisbury. Improved again in defeat when fourth in a 7f handicap at Glorious Goodwood. Remains unexposed and makes plenty of appeal with Ryan Moore doing the steering.

Winner of 6f Newbury listed race on final 2-y-o start and acquitted himself creditably finishing fifth in the Jersey at Royal Ascot (7f). Ran well on form when fifth in the Whispering Angel handicap at Goodwood but again blew the start and hung under pressure. Capable but comes with risks attached.

Winner of a 7f Ascot novice as a juvenile and highly tried thereafter. Struggled on his handicap/all-weather debut after 9 months off when last at Newcastle in June. Remains to be seen whether he can get back on track now fitted with headgear following a break.

Different model since being gelded prior to this season, landing his third win when shading a close finish in a smart 3-y-o handicap at the Newmarket July meeting (1m) and still in good form when fifth in the Golden Mile at Goodwood. This track should suit better and remains one to be interested in.

Landed a hat-trick on handicap bow at Haydock in May, ridden more patiently than previously. Run best excused in the Britannia Stakes at Ascot (1m) prior to running too free when finishing midfield over the same C&D last month. No surprise to see him resume progress returned to a turning track.

Six figure purchase as a yearling and made an immediate impact when winning on debut at Redcar (1m). Well backed when following up in a Southwell novice over the same trip (solid form) and improved again to land the hat-trick at Thirsk 20 days ago. Unbeaten gelding is going the right way.

Beat another useful, improving sort when successful in a 1m Nottingham maiden in June. Wasn't seen to best effect on handicap bow at Ascot but shaped with plenty of promise when fourth in a Goodwood handicap (1m, heavy) in first-time cheekpieces (removed). Of strong interest back on better ground.

Resumed progress when winning on handicap debut/reappearance at Newmarket (1m) and again showed a high cruising speed when fourth in a 1m handicap at Haydock. Not in the same form returned to Newmarket in June and ran no sort of race on softer ground at Goodwood last month. Bit to prove now.

Dual winner prior to finishing first past the post in handicap at Haydock (7.2f, good) last month (subsequently disqualified for causing interference to the runner-up). Found run of good form coming to a halt when well beaten at Goodwood 22 days ago. This looks tough even if bouncing back.

Completed a hat-trick at Chester in June and took his form up another notch when runner-up at Southwell (8.1f). Confirmed that progression in first-time cheekpieces when an unlucky second in a 1m Goodwood handicap (good to soft) 22 days ago. Likeable type should give another good account.

Much improved this season, decisively off the mark in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f) last month. Didn't fire at Glorious Goodwood but quickly back on the up returned to a more conventional track when gamely winning at Haydock (8.2f) 13 days ago. Well-bred sort could progress again.

Third in a strong Newbury maiden on debut last year and opened his account over 1m at the same track on reappearance. Travelled like a well-treated one when fourth on handicap debut at Haydock (7.2f) but didn't race with the same fluency on softer ground at Goodwood. Could be worth another chance.

Had been on the up since being gelded, bagging back-to-back 7.6f Chester handicaps under contrasting conditions but reverted to looking less than straightforward when well-held in better company at Goodwood earlier this month. Now tried in first time cheekpieces but others preferred.

Is enjoying a fine season, achieving a fourth success in 6-runner handicap at Ascot (8f) and again running well in a significantly deeper affair when third in a 1m Goodwood handicap (splitting Impartiality and Sea Force) last month. Should remain competitive.

17:20 York - 22 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Highly competitive but this may go the way of the improving SEA FORCE for last year's winning trainer/jockey. He looked the winner at Goodwood before being caught out by the rain-softened ground late on and he's fancied to reverse the form with reopposing rivals that finished ahead of him, now returned to better ground. Montpellier still held an entry in the Hungerford earlier this month and remains unexposed as a handicapper, he may prove next best ahead of Fearnot who arrives in top form.
