Twice-raced maiden. Stepped up on debut when third of 7 in maiden at Ascot (6f, good to firm) 21 days ago, nearest finish. The step up to 7f should suit. Capable of better again.

Forecasts

Venetian Prince (6/5), Wechaad (4/1), Law Court (6/1), Slight Of Foot (9/1), Bay Of Brilliance (11/1), Nova Centauri (16/1), Edwin Hubble (18/1), Wedonttelllies (22/1), Magical Merlot (40/1), Bird Of War (50/1)

16:10 Newbury - 16 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

VENETIAN PRINCE showed promise on debut in a Newmarket July meeting maiden which has already thrown up plenty of winners so he gets the vote before any market clues are known about the several interesting newcomers. The fact Law Court has been handed Group entries in the autumn suggests he is well regarded so he's a tentative second choice ahead of fellow debutants Slight of Foot and Bay of Brilliance.
