Useful winner for Ger Lyons and has bits and pieces of promise for his current yard, duly turning in best effort of the season from a dropping mark when third of 19 at York (7.9f, good to firm) just over a fortnight ago. Has the ability but might be the type who needs things to drop just right.

Consistent performer with good Musselburgh record, winning 3 times and running well there on Friday on the back of a fine effort in a big-field York handicap.

Thriving this year, unlikely he needed to improve much to notch this third success from his last 5 starts in 3-runner handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to soft) just under 3 weeks ago, leading approaching final 1f. 4 lb higher and warrants considerable respect in this mood.

Course winner a couple of summers ago but has struggled on both outings since her comeback third over C&D, never involved when eighth of 11 at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 10 days ago. Now on her last successful mark and a return to this venue could spark a revival.

Returned with 1m win at Pontefract in April and shaped well when third on next couple of starts. Easy to excuse York effort when very slowly away but ran no more than respectably when fourth of 9 at Ripon (9.8f, soft) since. Others more appealing on balance.

Confirmed debut promise at the second time of asking when winning 1m novice at Thirsk (good) just under 6 weeks ago. Gelded since and could have more to offer now venturing into his first handicap. Engaged 4.17 Newmarket Saturday.

Made a winning return at Newmarket in May but rather in-and-out since, finishing mid-field in the Racing League at Chepstow (7.1f, good to soft) on Thursday. Places claims probably the best he can hope for if coping with a swift turnaround.

Course winner and bounced back to form when fourth at Haydock (7f) on Friday. This is tougher.

Very promising start to the year but was below form back in handicap company at Southwell (8.1f) 4 months ago. Cheekpieces discarded for his turf debut and others look stronger on balance.

Won at Ripon last month but has finished well held on both subsequent starts, latest back at Ripon (9.8f, good) 6 days ago. Handicapper looks in charge for now so probably best to look elsewhere.

Tim Easterby's charge made it 3 wins from his last 5 outings at Beverley recently and a 4 lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Mr King, who turned in his best effort of the season when third at York last time, and the returning Degale can also feature.
