475,000 gns yearling, Lope De Vega colt who very much caught the eye and would likely have posed a big threat but for meeting with trouble when third of 13 in maiden at this C&D (good) on debut 42 days ago. Sure to progress and he's one for the shortlist.

Lope De Vega colt. Dam, French 2-y-o 7.5f winner, sister to smart 7.5f/1m (US Grade 2) winner Filimbi out of very smart 9f/1¼m winner Flute, won Kentucky Oaks. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for yard no stranger to success with their juveniles and one to monitor closely in the betting.

Night of Thunder colt who shaped encouragingly when sixth of 15 in maiden at this C&D (good to soft, 22/1) on debut 21 days ago, keeping on without being knocked about. Open to improvement with that under his belt and no surprise to see him in the mix.

Starspangledbanner filly who has improved with each start, nailed late on when second of 14 in maiden at Down Royal (7.1f, good) 22 days ago. Experience ought to count for a good deal here and another expected to be thereabouts.

Twice-raced filly. Tongue strap on for 1st time, eleventh of 15 in maiden (66/1) at Leopardstown (7.2f, good) 23 days ago, running green and making no impression. Looks more of a longer-term project on what she's showed to date.

Forecasts

Al Haarith (13/8), Hawk Mountain (3/1), Tashakour (5/1), Kensington Lane (7/1), Charles Fort (7/1), Port Of Spain (12/1), Geryon (18/1), Sleeper Hunter (80/1), Oppenheimer (100/1), Moonlight Molly (300/1)

13:45 Curragh - 9 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Often an informative maiden with AL HAARITH fancied to build on a highly encouraging debut third over C&D 6 weeks ago. Joseph O'Brien's charge would likely have posed a big threat to the front 2 that day had he not encountered trouble in running at a vital stage and he rates a sure-fire improver with that run under his belt. Aidan O'Brien has landed each of the last 2 renewals and he's well represented with newcomer Hawk Mountain and Charles Fort commanding respect. Geryon is another to note.
