Runner-up in this race 12 months ago from the same mark. Shaped as though retaining all his ability over fences this season and has merely been ticking over on the Flat of late. This race has likely been a long-term target and he looks set to run another big race.

Latest win in hurdle at Killarney in May. Outclassed when 33¼ lengths tenth of 12 to Jesse Evans in Grade 3 Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good to soft, 40/1) 30 days ago. Significantly back up in trip and still faces an uphill task in an ultra-competitive handicap.

Much improved on debut for this yard when winning a valuable event at the Dublin Racing Festival. Shaped creditably in the Morebattle next time and returned to form when left with too much to do in a handicap at Punchestown (20.5f, good to soft) 91 days ago. 1 of 4 for Emmet Mullins in the race.

Ran well when third behind Impero in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in April. Won maiden chase (5 runners) at Down Royal (6/5) subsequently but has looked Flat on previous two starts, latest back on the level. Has a bit to prove returning to hurdles.

Didn't need to improve to get off the mark when winning 16-runner novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, good) prior to shaping as if still in form when unseating in a novice chase (9/1) at Tipperary (good to soft) on debut over fences 86 days ago. Will need to improve for the longer trip back hurdling.

Won a handicap hurdle here in 2022 and 2023. Returned to winning ways here on Wednesday, winning an 18-runner Flat handicap. Represents a shrewd trainer and could be interesting turned out quickly over hurdles.

Latest win in chase at Punchestown in November and shaped as if still in form on return when creditable fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (22.6f, good, 33/1) 68 days ago, not unduly punished. Entitled to improve for that run, for all he's in a much deeper race here.

He's preferred to interesting handicap debutante Maughreen who could be open to improvement on handicap debut, having been given the vote of confidence by Paul Townend, while Timmy Tuesday had looked progressive when runner-up in a useful handicap at Aintree in April and ought to be much more competitive if bouncing back to form following a break.
