Charlie Appleby has saddled the winner of three of the last six runnings of this and BECKFORD'S FOLLY is confidently expected to enhance that record. The Lope de Vega colt stepped up on his debut run when landing a C&D novice in good style at the end of June and entries in the Gimcrack and Mill Reef suggest that he is well-regarded. Newcomers My Dad Tom and Noelies Dream are both fairly appealing on paper and they can fill the places.
