5/2
Promising sort who made a winning debut in a Kempton novice (1m) last autumn and similarly promising efforts in finishing runner-up both starts in novice company at up to 1¼m this spring. Brings untapped potential to the table now handicapping over this longer trip and he's interesting.

Quickly progressed into a useful handicapper, registering a third success of the season at Epsom (10f) in June. Possibly unsuited by firmer ground when down the field at Newmarket latest but return to an easier surface here can see him in a better light. Up in trip.

Son of Sea The Stars who was 2-2 in maiden/novice events on turf at 1¼m in April and found a chunk of improvement when third of 9 on handicap debut at York (10.2f) a month later. Gelded thereafter and this well-bred sort appeals as the type to progress further now upped in trip. Player.

Firmly back on track following a break/gelding operation, runner-up at Redcar (10f) and helped by a truer gallop when going one place better in 8-runner handicap at Sandown (10f) 4 weeks ago, overhauling another progressive sort in the process. Highly likely has more in his locker now trying 1½m.

No Nay Never colt who got off the mark in a match at Chepstow (12f) in May and stepped up on that with cheekpieces fitted when sixth in King George V handicap at Royal Ascot (12f) next start. May have found 14f stretching him when fifth at Haydock latest. Has races in him from this mark.

Winner of 1¼m handicap here on reappearance and even better form when reeled in late on at Epsom (10f, soft) in June. May have found his Royal Ascot assignment over 1½m coming too soon 2 weeks later and whilst he's the type to bounce back, he does need to confirm his stamina.

Night of Thunder colt who put his experience to good use when scoring on return in 5-runner Nottingham maiden (10.2f) in June. However, failed to justify strong support when fourth behind Mighty Boy on handicap debut at Ascot (10f) since and step up to 1½m needs to bring about improvement.

Brother to high-class 1¼m-1½m winner Sea of Class who has shaped with definite promise in 3 maiden/novice starts to date, picked off only by one destined for pattern company on qualifying run at Kempton (11f) 23 days ago. Opening mark fair and he's interesting on handicap bow with tongue tie added.

Son of Kingman who made it third time lucky in a Haydock maiden (11.8f) in June. However, didn't look entirely straightforward then and he hindered his chance by hanging badly left when third on handicap bow at Southwell (12f) 19 days ago. Application of blinkers may help in that regard now.

Gelded over the winter and ran out a good winner on return/handicap debut at Southwell (1m) in the spring. Model of consistency in 4 starts since, running best race yet when second of 8 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good) 7 days ago, clear of rest. Respected now stamina is tested further.

Record patchy so far this season but he got himself firmly back on track under change of tactics when winning 9-runner handicap at Ascot (10f, firm) 21 days ago, holding on gamely having secured an uncontested lead. More on his plate from 4 lb higher mark in this stronger affair, however.

Cheap purchase considering his pedigree but continues to improve, doubling his tally in game fashion at Doncaster (11.9f) 2 weeks ago and ran another solid race without being able to fully open up until late when runner-up here (12f) on Wednesday. Remains capable of better.

Left previous form behind when dead-heating on handicap bow at Lingfield (10f, AW) in June but never looked like following up returned to turf when eighth of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f) 22 days ago. Bred to be suited by this sort of trip but this is an even tougher assignment.

16:55 Goodwood - 1 August 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

MUNSIF made the perfect start when winning twice in maiden/novice company and took another step forward when finishing a very good third on handicap debut at York in the spring. Gelded subsequently, he's just the type to continue improving and earns the vote now his stamina is tested further. Sea of Kings is another intriguing runner on handicap debut along with Sandown scorer Yabher. Mdawi, who ran very well when second here on Wednesday, and Push The Limit can also figure.
