Smart performer for John Gosden and has shaped as though retaining much of his ability for this yard, not seen to best effect coming from the unfavoured stands-side group when thirteenth in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot (8f, firm) 36 days ago. Claims back up in trip on ground he enjoys.

Ended long losing run dropped into a 0-90, winning a 7-runner handicap at Newmarket (12f, good) 12 days ago, in command final furlong. That was his best run for a while and he ought to remain competitive from this mark.

C&D Ended 2024 largely in good nick, bagging 1m2f Newbury handicap on soft ground in September. Looked rusty following 7 months off when well held at Haydock (good) last month, having been very slowly into stride. Capable of being more competitive back on softer ground.

Useful handicapper (fifth in the Cambridgeshire last season) and has continued in good heart this season, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 6/1) 26 days ago. Respected but could be vulnerable to improving types.

Winner of this race in 2024 (off 4 lb lower) but posted a rare below-par effort when tenth of 13 in handicap (13/2) at Epsom (10.1f, good to soft) 48 days ago. Solid form over this trip previously but looks to have a bit to find.

Plenty of promise on the all-weather in the spring and landed first turf win stepping back up in trip when successful in a 7-runner handicap (22/1) at Wetherby (10f, good to firm) 52 days ago, doing well to come from last given how the race unfolded. Remains one to be interested in.

Latest win at Hamilton in June but followed a below-par run with an even worse one when 7/2, last of 6 in handicap at Musselburgh (9f, good to firm) 23 days ago. This looks competitive and others arrive in much better form.

Continues to thrive since joining James Owen, making in 2 wins from last 3 starts when successful in an 8-runner handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm) 30 days ago, battling well. In fine heart but his will require another step forward.

Signed off 2024 with 1m victory at York and ran creditably returned to that track when fourth of 12 in handicap at York (10.2f, good to firm, 22/1) 41 days ago, confirming his stamina for this sort of trip. Should give another good account.

Not the most straightforward but has recorded creditable fourths over this trip at Chester and Redcar this season prior to suffering an early tack issue at York last time. Best to put a line through that month but still has improvement to find.

Had a very productive 2023, winning 5 times (once over hurdles) and has returned to that sort of form this season, creditable second of 9 in handicap at York (10.2f, good to firm, 22/1) 13 days ago, slowly away and never getting to the all-the-way winner. Should give his running again.

Ran well in a trio of novices over 7f but has improved for the step up in trip, looking more professional when off the mark in a 12-runner maiden (9/4) at Sandown (10f, good to firm) 40 days ago, winning easily. Remains open to improvement back in a handicap. Excellent claims.

Latest win at Ripon in May and back on track returned to that venue when fourth of 7 in handicap at Ripon (12f, good to firm, 5/2) 36 days ago on final start for Jedd O'Keeffe. Has joined a yard who can do well with new recruits but remains with something to find on bare form.

20:40 Yarmouth - 24 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

WAVE RIDER caught the eye in a good handicap on penultimate start and impressed when getting off the mark in a Sandown maiden last month. Lightly-raced, he should go on improving and can record a first handicap success at the expense of Epictetus who has shaped as if retaining plenty of ability for new connections and could have more to offer returning to softer conditions. Brasil Power is also respected having come from an unpromising position to get off the mark on turf last time.
