It's now twelve runs since his last win in 2023 but he comes here having shaped better than distance beaten suggests when sixth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (7f, good, 11/2) 16 days ago, hampered final 100 yds and not recover. Worth a look back at 6f with rider taking off handy 5 lb.

Caused a surprise in refitted visor when landing 9-runner handicap at Musselburgh (7f) 2 starts back. However, headgear seemingly failed to have same effect when down the field back at that track/trip 17 days ago and his overall record is a patchy one.

Steadily eased in the weights this spring and, well backed, bounced back to form when winning 9-runner handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 18 days ago, by neck from Golden Duke. Should go well again on the back of a 3 lb rise.

Back-to-back winner of heavy ground 5f handicaps here last autumn and not shaping up at all badly of late, coming from quite a long way back when fifth of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, heavy) 13 days ago. Any further easing of the ground would aid his cause ahead of this.

Winless in 2024 but fallen to a very attractive mark as a result and he ran well after 6 months off when finishing a neck second of 9 to One of Our Own in handicap at this C&D 18 days ago. Possible he'll come on for that and he's another worthy of consideration.

6-time winner in 2024 who had been shaping up well prior to finishing 16 lengths eighth of 9 behind stablemate One of Our Own in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 18 days ago, racing wider than ideal but folding tamely. Still, he's a likely bounce back candidate.

Ended a losing run at Leicester (6f) 12 months ago and largely held her form well since, fourth of 6 in handicap (9/4) at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Return to 6f looks in her favour now and she comes lurking on a handy mark. Possibilities.

Forecasts

Profiteer (2/1), The Good Biscuit (10/3), Golden Duke (9/2), Carlton And Co (11/2), One Of Our Own (13/2), Flowstate (8/1), Golden Rainbow (14/1), Fletchers Dream (18/1)

21:00 Pontefract - 18 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

THE GOOD BISCUIT's losing run is mounting up but he shaped better than the distance beaten suggests over further at Thirsk 16 days ago and, with the return to sprinting posing no fears, Ruth Carr's 4-y-o could well be ready to strike from a handy draw with Warren Fentiman taking off a handy 5 lb. Carlton And Co is another lurking on a handy mark. Recent C&D 1-2 One of Our Own and Golden Duke are others worth a look in the finale.
