Lightly-raced 5-y-o who was successful on only start at 3 yrs and stepped up on last season's return when a good fourth in listed company at Sandown (1m). Well held both starts this spring, but eased 4 lb since latest run at Newbury and, moreover, this drop in trip could be just what he needs.

Winless since taking a listed event at York in September 2023 and while he put in a good shift when runner-up over this C&D on penultimate start, he has otherwise failed to fire on all cylinders so far this season.

Landed a big pot at York last autumn and has acquitted himself well all 4 starts this season, his best effort coming at Leicester in April when second in a competitive 11-runner handicap (6f, good to firm). Just 1 lb above last winning mark and he's by no means discounted.

Dual novice winner (AW/turf) at 2 and excellent close third in listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar final start. However, his reappearance at York (first run in handicap company) last month was not particularly encouraging, even allowing for the fact that the run may have been needed.

Resumed winning ways at Ripon in April, but has failed to fire in 2 subsequent starts at York, latterly on first start since undergoing a wind op. Yard saddles a more appealing candidates in Bergerac and Vantheman.

Has gradually returned to the boil this season, opening his 2025 account over 5f here last month. Gave it a good shot when fourth of 14 at Newcastle next time and, with the return to this trip unlikely to be an issue, he has to enter calculations.

Hit the target twice last year and his turn may again be near judged on his solid second to Brooklyn Nine Nine here (5f, good to firm) last time. Closely matched with stablemate Bergerac on a line through that rival and while Tom Eaves prefers the latter, he should have a part to play.

Improved in the second half of last season, taking 15-runner handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy) in November. Out with the washing all 3 starts so far this year, though, and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Dual winner of 6f handicaps last season and narrowly denied a hat-trick at Doncaster (6f, soft) on final start of that campaign. Best effort yet when adding to her tally on return at Goodwood (7f, good to soft) and, up just 2 lb, she is greatly respected with Oisin Murphy again in the hot-seat.

Kickstarted 2025 with 6f wins at Wolverhampton and Newmarket during the spring. Posted an excellent third of 18 to Hucklesbrook in handicap at York (6f, good to firm) back from a 2-month break last time and he's a major player off the same mark here.

Started this year in fine fettle, bagging 4 handicaps on the bounce between February and April. Struck again when proving ½-length too strong for Jonny Concrete at York last month, but wasn't in the same form at Thirsk since and he looks vulnerable on that back of that display.

Struck gold twice at Ayr last season and arguably produced his best effort yet when making a winning reappearance at Musselburgh (7f, good) in April. Runner-up both subsequent starts in handicaps over this trip and it's not hard to envisage this 4-y-o playing a leading role here, too.

Consistent type who registered 4 victories last term and back on the scoresheet at Beverley in April. Latest fourth of 12 to Bergerac over 5f here was a respectable effort, but this could be a shade too competitive for him.

18:35 Hamilton - 18 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The majority of winners of this handicap in recent years have been aged 5+, but DOUBLE RUSH is clearly a sprinter on the up and is taken to strike for the Classic generation. The form of the Newmarket race he won in April has worked out well and he did well under the circumstances back from a break at York last month, leaving the strong impression that there is better to come. Jonny Concrete also performed with great credit on the Knavesmire last time and he is next on the list ahead of Nariko.
