25/1
Fairly useful Flat performer who won a pair of novice hurdles at this course 2 years ago. Solid start for this yard when runner-up in a course handicap struggled since and needs a return to this track (in a first time tongue tie) to spark a revival.

Bumper winner at Stratford in October and left previous hurdles form well behind following a wind op when opening his account over hurdles at this course (16.8f, good) in June. Improved when runner-up at Worcester 26 days ago and should remain competitive in this sort of company.

Veteran won at Exeter in October 2023 and was back down to that mark when returning to form following 7 months off, finishing a close fourth in a course handicap (16.8f) 20 days ago. Hasn't been the most consistent performer, though.

Very well backed but never looked like justifying support on stable debut at Warwick. Quickly made amends with headgear refitted off a career-low mark when winning an 8-runner C&D handicap (under a strong Sean Bowen ride) 20 days ago. Can make a bold bid to follow up if in similar form here.

Fairly useful Flat maiden finished a creditable third in 16.5f Market Rasen handicap hurdle last June but failed to fire in 3 starts this year, seemingly amiss when well beaten at Taunton in April. Returns from a break in first time cheekpieces and handicapper has given him a chance if back on song.

Stepped forward from reappearance when notching a third course success here 31 days ago (16.7f), travelled well into contention and idled in front. He's not entirely straightforward but should remain competitive over a slightly longer trip (dual winner over this C&D).

7/2
Modest hurdles winner at Hereford in November and ran to a similar level when off the mark over fences in a handicap chase here (21f, good) in June. Shaped as though still in top form on softer than ideal ground at Cartmel 17 days ago and is respected returning to hurdles on better ground.

Forecasts

Gore Point (9/4), Stiletto (5/2), Culligran (7/2), Sassified (11/2), Thahab Ifraj (10/1), Songo (25/1), Albert Park (28/1)

15:50 Newton Abbot - 14 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

STILETTO was unable to justify strong support on stable debut but quickly made amends when winning a C&D handicap last month and he can follow up with Sean Bowen again in the saddle. Albert Park has been given a chance by the handicapper if he can bounce back in first time cheekpieces following a break, while course winner Gore Point was as good as ever when runner-up at Worcester last time and ought to go well again.
