Dual winner of 5f novices and placed in the Molecomb last season. Better than ever on his return when runner-up in conditions event at Chelmsford but struggled to make an impact back up in class since (carried head bit awkwardly). Headgear now applied.

Won twice for Karl Burke at 2 yrs, including a 6f York listed race on final start of campaign. However, failed to make an impact in a couple of appearances for new yard at Meydan earlier this year so questions to answer back from a break.

Useful form whe wide-margin winner of Sandown maiden before decent third in Group 3 at Newmarket. Found the Sandy Lane too much at Haydock on return but in a more realistic grade here switched to a handicap.

Newcastle novice winner a year ago and followed that by finishing a good fifth in a valuable big-field sales race at the Ebor meeting. Gelded ahead of his career-best winning reappearance at Thirsk and backed that with an excellent third of 22 at York. Easy to forgive latest run at Epsom.

Took form to another level when second of 22 in a 5f York handicap at the Dante meeting. A bit too keen for his own good next 2 starts there but he's not taken lightly tackling AW for the first time.

Has made good progress in 6f novices, winning for a second time on Yarmouth reappearance. Not disgraced when mid-field on handicap debut at York 4 weeks ago and certainly worth a go at this trip (free-goer).

Improved model on AW for this yard and proved every bit as effective back on turf over 5f when runner-up at Sandown in April. Not disgraced at Royal Ascot since and should be much more competitive here. Change of headgear.

Won novices at Southwell and Redcar 7 month apart before good second on handicap bow at Ripon 8 weeks ago. Tongue strap on 1st time and remains a useful prospect down in trip.

Dual winner over 5f from the front last summer and proved better than ever on second start this term when finishing runner-up in the Epsom 3-y-o Dash. Probably in better form than his last 2 efforts imply so remains of interest eased another 2 lb.

Busy at 2 yrs but ran her best race yet when second of 7 in handicap at Haydock (5f, good, 14/1) 22 days ago, clear of rest. Player off same mark switched to the AW for the first time.

Fairly useful form as a 2-y-o for Karl Burke but hasn't yet figured for new yard this season. Headgear on.

Forecasts

Mr Lightside (9/2), Showering (11/2), Kullazain (6/1), Loom (6/1), Fluorescence (13/2), Against The Wind (15/2), Lexington Blitz (8/1), Brosay (9/1), Amestris (16/1), Jungle Drums (28/1), Storm Call (100/1)

18:15 Southwell - 13 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty to consider but FLUORESCENCE arguably has the most potential, especially tackling 5f for the first time. Lexington Blitz has had excuses since finishing second in the 3-y-o "Dash" at Epsom off 2 lb higher so is next best ahead of Showering, who is another who could benefit from the drop in trip.
