Progressive type who supplemented his small-field Brighton maiden success with a decisive handicap debut display at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) a fortnight ago. Hit with an 8 lb rise and this stiff 5f will be something new, but he may well continue on an upward curve.

Bred in the purple and built on abundant debut promise when cosily landing a 5f Nottingham maiden on second 2-y-o start. Absent since finishing mid-field in the Queen Mary last June, but she got no luck that day and brings clear potential to this handicap debut.

Dual winner over 5f from the front last summer and proved better than ever on second start this term when finishing runner-up in the Epsom Dash last month. Low draw counted against him at Royal Ascot since and he's by no means discounted.

Bagged a couple of nurseries at 2 yrs, including over this C&D, and has kicked on again this year, producing a career-best when accounting for 7 rivals at Nottingham (5f, good) last month. This is tougher up 6 lb, but she shouldn't be far away all the same.

Off the mark in 6f Chelmsford novice last summer before a respectable run in 5f Ayr listed race. Left low-key Chester reappearance (poorly drawn) behind when fifth in the Epsom Dash and he should make his presence felt off the same mark.

C&D winner at 2 yrs and returned to form back here when fourth in a 7-runner listed contest last month. Seen to advantage the way the race developed that day, though, and she failed to fire off this mark on her sole previous start in handicap company.

Ascot debut winner last spring and followed that with a creditable effort at Royal Ascot. However, progress has not been forthcoming in a couple of handicaps since returning to action in May and now finds herself with a bit to prove.

Forecasts

Kassaya (5/2), Getreadytorumble (10/3), Nad Alshiba Green (7/2), Pearl Of Windsor (6/1), Lexington Blitz (15/2), Gold Star Hero (10/1), Jungle Drums (20/1), Xanthe (40/1)

15:35 Sandown - 4 July 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This stiff 5f will present a different challenge to that which GETREADYTORUMBLE faced when scoring at Brighton and Goodwood last month. Still, he's clearly going the right way and an 8 lb rise for his latest success may not be enough to prevent him from completing the hat-trick. The well-bred Kassaya is of interest on this handicap debut, despite returning from over a year off, while Lexington Blitz is third choice ahead of Gold Star Hero and Pearl of Windsor.
