Maiden who again went close to bucking that trend when just touched off at Lingfield (10f) in May. Raced keenly in first-time cheekpieces (left off here) and not given a hard time once his chance had gone when last of 7 in handicap at Wetherby (10f) 26 days ago and he's a likely type to bounce back.

Returned with 1m win at Pontefract in April and shaped well both starts in defeat since, edged out dying strides when third of 11 in handicap at this course (8.8f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Return to further won't inconvenience him and he's one to consider.

Successful 3 times at around 10f last season and has run creditably on 3 of his 4 starts this time around, fifth of 12 in handicap (16/1) at this course (11.8f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Fallen 1 lb below his last winning mark ahead of this and he's another in with a shout.

Eased back down to last winning mark and he duly capitalised to double his tally for the year in 8-runner handicap at Ripon (9.8f, good to firm) 9 days ago, comfortably. 4 lb rise for that looks fair and he has the services of Simon Walker, so definite claims in follow-up bid.

Had a very productive 2023, winning 5 times (once over hurdles). However, he's been very lightly raced more recently, and failed to land a blow when sixth of 8 in handicap at Goodwood (1m, good to firm) 15 days ago. Return to this longer trip may help.

C&D winner who ran creditably after 5 months off, whilst leaving the impression he would come on for the outing when fourth of 11 in handicap at Ripon (9.8f) 30 days ago. Figures on a handy mark and he's another well worthy of a second look.

Successful twice at up to 11f last year and he's returned in good heart, no extra only late on having proved typically headstrong when fourth of 14 in handicap at Hamilton (11.1f, good to soft) 13 days ago. Ease back in trip will hold no fears and big player provided he settles better.

Enjoyed a good spell on the level since the turn of the year, gaining a third victory at Pontefract (10f) in April. Good third over hurdles next time but he does need to shrug off a lesser display when down the field in a C&D handicap 15 days ago.

Winner at Yarmouth in April and ran at least as well when second of 7 in handicap at Pontefract (10f, good) later that month. Unsuited by steady gallop when last of 6 in handicap at Leicester (11.8f) 25 days ago and no surprise to see a better showing for all this is tougher.

Successful in a heavy ground maiden at Leicester (7f) for Peter Chapple-Hyam as a 2-y-o. Lightly raced (missed last year) and mere modest form in trio of hurdle starts for new yard in recent months and percentage call to look elsewhere returned to this sphere.

Registered a fourth victory of 2024 at Redcar (10f) in September. Essentially running respectably in defeat this term prior to a rare poor effort when ninth in Queen Mother's Cup here (11.8f) 2 weeks ago. Likely type to bounce back.

Endured an underwhelming 2024 but given a chance by the assessor and back on track in recent weeks, building on his reappearance second when successful in 11-runner handicap at Newbury (10f) 16 days ago, always holding on. One to consider nudged up 3 lb.

It's now fourteen runs since last win in 2024 and he seemed stretched by the longer trip when ninth of 20 in handicap (50/1) at this C&D (good to firm) 15 days ago. Likely he'll find a few too good again.

Has won a race in each of his previous seasons and has highlighted his turn may not be far away of late, runner-up in handicaps at Redcar/Ripon. Latest Carlisle sixth 12 days ago has to go down as disappointing and this looks even more demanding.

3-time winner at Beverley in 2024 who resumed after 7 months off with a good second there in May. Didn't help his cause by taking a strong hold when fourth of 8 in handicap at Pontefract (10f, good, 9/4) 19 days ago and this is a much tougher assignment.

Snapped a losing sequence at Ripon (1m) in May and made light of a 5 lb weights rise when following up over same C&D at the start of the month. Not disgraced when fifth in hat-trick bid tackling 9.7f there latest but his revised mark demands more now in any case.

WHATHAPPENSINVEGAS has encouragingly brought consistency to the table in 3 starts so far this season, deserving of extra credit for where he finished having taken a strong hold when fourth over further at Hamilton 2 weeks ago. He's a definite player from this sort of mark and earns the vote. C&D winner Titian should be sharper for last month's reappearance and is feared along with Ripon scorer Westernesse. Alazwar and Glistening Nights are others worthy of a second look.
