Back to winning ways for Alastair Ralph when making all over 2m at Ludlow and Hereford this spring and as good as ever when last seen finishing runner up in a Market Rasen handicap (18.6f) in April, having been able to dictate. Tougher task upped in grade for stable debut.

4-time C&D winner including the previous two renewals of this race. In fine form during last year's summer hurdle campaign but raced lazily when finishing stone last on the Flat in October. Connections will have targeted this race and he could well bounce back following a break.

Wore first-time hood when third in a valuable handicap here last year (entered in the same race on Sunday but may not make the cut). Should have finished closer after 11 months off when third at Hexham (16.2f) 20 days ago, typically travelled strongly. Looks interesting with hood now refitted.

Fairly useful winner at 10f on Flat. Lightly raced in this sphere and off the mark at this course in July (good to firm). Placed in handicaps on two subsequent runs (both on soft ground) and hasn't been seen to best effect on the Flat in recent starts. Improvement needed back over hurdles.

Veteran who bagged 3 more handicap wins in the first half of last season but hasn't looked the same force in recent months, for all he needed a greater emphasis on stamina when a well held fourth at Hexham (16.2f) earlier this month. Likely to find a few too good here.

Best form around 2m and has made limited impact over longer trips on most recent hurdle starts. Has fallen to a potentially lenient mark as a result and arrives in fine heart having won two of his last 3 starts on the Flat. Makes appeal returned to a sharper test over hurdles.

Maiden had some creditable form for P.J. Rothwell and shaped with encouragement on first start for Lucinda Russell (following 3 months off) when given plenty to do when fifth in a 15-runner handicap at Hexham (20.1f). Remains to be seen if she can build on that promise under the same amateur rider.

Looked a weak finisher in a trio of bumpers for Willie Mullins but did manage to finish runner-up in a couple of novice/maiden hurdles for Alastair Ralph, the latest in a poor race at Stratford in April. Looks to have plenty to find on stable debut.

Winless since scoring over C&D on debut for this stable back in July 2022. Well backed when a well beaten fifth behind Winds of Winter over C&D in May and was again well held by that rival at Hexham earlier this month. Mark continues to tumble but first-time tongue tie needs to spark improvement.

Knocking on the door of being fairly useful at his best and while way below that form earlier this season for Kerry Lee, has quickly got back on the up for James Owen, winning a Market Rasen chase (19.2f) easily last week. 10 lb well in and has strong claims of following up over hurdles.

Greenrock Abbey (2/1), Saligo Bay (3/1), Winds Of Winter (9/2), Lightening Company (5/1), Book of Secrets (6/1), Vocal Duke (11/1), Calevade (12/1), Torquay Road (12/1), Greatness Awaits (14/1), Game Management (16/1), Mayos Vendangeur (25/1), The Navigator (28/1), El Fabienne (50/1)

17:30 Cartmel - 27 June 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

GREENROCK ABBEY is due to race off a 10 lb higher mark in future and he can follow up his recent Market Rasen chase success back over hurdles. Saligo Bay is well handicapped returning to this sharper test and has been in fine form on the Flat, he's feared most ahead of Book of Secrets who ran well over this C&D in a higher grade last season and having shaped encouragingly on reappearance earlier this month, looks interesting with a hood now refitted.
