Course winner who has been given a real chance by the assessor and went like the best horse at the weights when ¾-length third of 22 to Delicacy in handicap at this C&D (good, 11/1) 15 days ago, likely he'd have won if held onto for longer. Big shout up 2 lb with Marquand up.

Had a busy 2024, gaining a fourth victory in handicaps at Ayr (7.2f) in July and in-the frame on 4 of his 5 starts thereafter. Best not judged too harshly on either outing so far this term, meeting with trouble when 8¾ lengths tenth of 22 to Delicacy in C&D handicap 15 days ago.

Went very close in a C&D handicap on last season's reappearance and bagged first victory since his juvenile days in handicap at Southwell (6f) in February. Continued in form since, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Haydock (7f) 21 days ago. Rider takes off a very handy 5 lb here.

Gained both wins at Newcastle, the latest over 6f in November. Largely held form well on AW/turf since the turn of the year but he did underperform when finishing midfield behind re-opposing Delicacy over C&D a couple of weeks ago. Type to bounce back.

Doesn't really find winning easy these days but he did get back on track from an easing mark with blinkers enlisted when second of 6 in handicap (6/1) at Redcar (8f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Evidently on a competitive mark but he may have to settle for a minor role again.

Three-time winner in 2024 (including for this pilot) and turned in best effort for some time when just touched off in 8-runner handicap at Yarmouth (7f) 17 days ago. This is undoubtedly a much tougher assignment but respected for each-way purposes now he's back in good heart.

Improving in leaps and bounds following a recent stable switch, scoring at Leicester prior to overcoming the rise in class to readily land 22-runner C&D handicap at the Dante Meeting 2 weeks ago. Ought to take some stopping in hat-trick bid from 4 lb higher mark.

Twice successful from higher marks last term, including over C&D and dropped a big hint his turn may again be imminent when shaping much better than the bare result behind Delicacy here 2 weeks ago, denied a run and finishing virtually on the bridle. Intriguing runner with visor back on.

Son of Blue Point who resumed progress after 5 months off (also gelded) when runner-up at Southwell (7f) last month. Shade disappointing he couldn't build on that at Kempton next time but interesting connections now opt for application of cheekpieces.

C&D winner who arrives on a losing run but shaped well and was unlucky not to finish much closer for second start in succession when 3¼ lengths fourth of 22 to Delicacy in a C&D handicap 2 weeks ago, denied a run at a crucial stage. Merits serious consideration off this mark for in-form yard.

Gained breakthrough success for this yard in first-time cheekpieces at Beverley in summer of 2023. Winless last year but mark reflects that and resumed in good form, third at Ripon prior to seeming to find the test sharp enough when sixth at Newmarket (7f) latest. That a slight worry here.

Rattled off a quick-fire hat-trick in handicaps at around 1m on turf last summer. Mark understandably rose considerably as a result and left the impression he's been working his way back to full fitness in pair of turf runs so far this spring. Passed over for the time being.

Lightly-raced 4-y-o who was holding form well when last seen, just proving vulnerable late on having raced freely when third of 9 in handicap at Epsom (8.5f, heavy) back in September. Sort his shrewd yard do very well with and he's worth a second look on seasonal bow.

Bagged this prize in decisive fashion from a 2 lb lower mark 12 months ago and consistent thereafter, back on the scoresheet at Southwell (1m) in December. Record mixed more recently, failing to revive for a return to the Knavesmire when well held eighteenth behind Delicacy over C&D 15 days ago.

Very best efforts came around here last season, narrowly bagging big-field C&D handicap in July. However, really struggled to replicate that level in handful of starts thereafter and a 7-month break needs to have had a positive effect. Visor back on in place of blinkers.

Successful once during a busy 2024 campaign and stepped up on first starts back this spring when winning 8-runner handicap (10/3) at Beverley (7.4f, good) 7 days ago. Nudged up just 2 lb for that but he's much more on his plate faced with this much more competitive scenario.

Losing run stretches back 2 years and he hasn't been shaping like bucking that trend for new stable of late, tenth of 12 in handicap at Ascot (6f, firm) 21 days ago. Return to 7f may help but others more persuasive.

All 3 career victories have come on all-weather yet, with headgear discarded having dipped below last winning mark, he returned to form when creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm) 33 days ago. This does look a much hotter race, however.

17:00 York - 31 May 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A highly-competitive finale with the vote in favour of MUMS TIPPLE, who went like the best horse at the weights and may well of won had he be held on to longer when third behind Delicacy in a C&D handicap at the Dante Festival 2 weeks ago. He can confirm as much with Tom Marquand taking over. Aforementioned Delicacy has thrived since joining James Owen and is a major player in her hat-trick bid. Riot and Quest For Fun where significant eye-catchers behind that pair and also need considering.
