Starspangledbanner who displayed loads of speed when opening his account in a Ripon maiden (5f) in August. Finished midfield in pair of Group contests thereafter and this switch to handicaps looks in his favour returning from 6 months off.

Much improved from debut when landing 10-runner Down Royal maiden (5f) in September. Step up to 6f may have stretched him when third in Goffs 500 at the Curragh on final start and return to the minimum trip expected to suit having joined new connections for 58,000 gns after. Handicap debut.

Pick of his form at 2 yrs came with give underfoot/under positive tactics, signing off with a make-all victory in 10-runner York nursery (5f) in October. Acquired by new connections for 40,000 gns thereafter

Improved model on AW for this yard, resuming winning ways in first-time cheekpieces at Southwell (5f) in December. Runner-up on 2 of his 3 starts since, latterly at Kempton (6f) 18 days ago and respected if translating the improvement back on turf.

Steadily progressive as a juvenile, equipped with a tongue strap when readily off the mark from the front on nursery debut at Yarmouth (6f) in September. Gelded ahead of return and shortlisted as an unexposed sort with potential for better still.

Holy Roman Emperor filly. Excellent start when landing first of 2 starts as a juvenile and she displayed a good attitude on first crack at 5f when scoring on return at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 32 days ago. Appeals as the type to do better again now handicapping and respected despite widest draw.

Returned to best when beating all bar an unexposed one at Kempton (6f) in January. Can have his latest run back at that venue easily overlooked 18 days ago (left poorly placed) and he's often shaped a like a return to this shorter trip was well worth exploring.

Well beaten on turf first 2 starts but a different proposition gelded/switched to AW, winning pair of 5f novice contests in December and returning from 13 weeks off with a good third in 8-runner handicap at Southwell (5f) 37 days ago. Not discounted back on turf.

14/1
Son of Mehmas who crucially channelled his energy more efficiently than previously when opening his account in 7-runner handicap at Southwell (5f) in January, staying on to lead final 50 yds. Gelded subsequently and whilst this is tougher from out of the weights, there ought to be more to come.

Forecasts

Zayer (2/1), Redorange (10/3), Queen All Star (4/1), Brosay (11/1), Lightning Bear (12/1), Star Chorus (14/1), End Of Story (16/1), Captain Kinsella (18/1), Ardennes (20/1)

13:15 Sandown - 25 April 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The betting wi likely prove useful in assessing the chances of a few here but REDORANGE boasted a progressive profile at 2 yrs, signing off with a ready victory on nursery debut at Yarmouth (6f) back in the autumn. Still unexposed, he gets the nod with further progress on the cards. Ardennes has often shaped like a return to the minimum trip would suit and better can be expected from him. Queen All Star and Zayer are others to consider.
