Won 3 times last season, including this corresponding event, and improved again when landing a 3m course handicap in November. Has struggled from a mark in the 130s since, the fitting of first-time cheekpieces failing to have a positive impact in the Pertemps Final on most recent outing.

Three-time hurdle winner for Tom Lacey at the end of 2021 before long absence. Showed he retains plenty of ability on first 3 starts for current yard this season but was well held in Coral Cup at the Festival last month. Bounce back required.

Looked promising in spring 2023 for Thomas Mullins and all the fitter for return to action when landing a few bets at Doncaster in November. Raised 8 lb and brushed aside at Newbury a month later and was again below form in a first-time tongue strap at Ascot last time.

Returned to win twice in quick succession around 21f at Ascot and Kempton in December. Shaped as if he's returned from an 11-week break still in top form until the stiff uphill finish seemingly took its toll in the Martin Pipe at the Festival and remains of firm interest back down slightly in trip.

Prolific in France but took 15 goes to get off the mark for current yard when surprise winner of listed hurdle at Warwick in February. Stiff task back over fences at the Festival a month later but shaped as if still in good form for a long way.

Runner-up in sole bumper and successful on first 3 completed starts over hurdles, well on top at the finish in an Aintree handicap (16.9f) in November. Found run of good form coming to a halt with a bit of a whimper at Doncaster the following month but could resume his progress back from a break.

Runner-up sole outing in points last spring and showed promise in a Huntingdon bumper/maiden hurdle before opening his account at Warwick (21f). Solid efforts in handicaps at Windsor and Hereford before resuming winning ways in a 3-runner novice at Doncaster (20.8f). Should go well again.

Veteran who capitalised on falling handicap mark when making all at Ludlow (21.3f) in February, having enjoyed the run of the race. Not in the same form in a well-contested handicap at Uttoxeter last time, though.

Did little wrong last season and has acquitted himself well all 4 starts since returning to action in December, latterly when seventh of 17 in Imperial Cup at Sandown (2m). Bred to stay the longer trip and needs considering.

Useful at his best for Dan Skelton but well beaten in France in June 2023 (only run for Rebecca Menzies) and could hardly have shown any less starting out for another new yard over C&D last month. Easy to look elsewhere.

Made all in a Market Rasen maiden in November and resumed progress back under less testing conditions when running out a wide-margin winner of a small field handicap at Haydock (18.9f) 4 weeks ago, dictating. 6 lb higher in a more competitive affair here but could go well again.

Left bumper form behind when sent hurdling for new yard, supplementing his maiden success switched to a handicap at Ascot in November (19.3f). Tough task in a Grade 2 next time but founds things far easier back in a handicap when third of 11 at Kelso (22.7f) latest. Remains low mileage.

Landed a double at Carlisle earlier in the season and made a promising chase debut when runner-up at the same venue before shaping better than the distance beaten suggests over a longer trip (pulled hard) on second chase outing. Reverts to hurdles and has stamina to prove kept to this trip.

Fair in bumpers and overcame inexperience to land a gamble on his Warwick hurdling debut (2m) in October. Resumed progress back at that venue (after 12 weeks off) when fourth of 12 on handicap debut last month and may come on for the outing.

Low mileage 6-y-o EAST INDIA EXPRESS resumed from an 11-week break still in top form in faring by far the best of those who raced prominently in the Martin Pipe at last month's Festival, so he remains of firm interest, especially now returning to a slightly shorter trip. Reallyntruthfully has quickly developed into a likeable type and should go well again back in handicap company, with Spirits Bay and American Sniper completing the shortlist.
