Resumed progress from out of the blue when running out an impressive winner in a re-fitted tongue strap in 3m Ffos Las handicap chase in November despite not always convincing with his jumping. Possibly found the race coming too soon at Leicester just 8 days later and freshened up since.

None too reliable (prone to mistakes over fences) and seemed to find the test inadequate when third of 5 in handicap chase at Doncaster (24f, good) just over 2 weeks ago. Back up in trip a positive but he's no certainty to be on his game anyway.

Showed first form over hurdles when third at Ffos Las last May and backed that up 5 months on switched to fences when finishing runner-up at Bangor in October. Quickly back on track after a fall when third at Warwick in December but needs to shrug off a lesser effort since. Visor on.

Got off the mark at Uttoxeter in November but running below form when fell last in handicap chase there (20f, heavy) following month on his final run for Dan Skelton. Capitulated in familiar fashion at Wetherby last month and now hiked up in trip. Tongue tie back on.

Two of his 3 wins last season came at this track and confirmed his effectiveness around here with 4 good placed efforts this season, latest when second of 10 here (24.3f, soft) 4 weeks ago. Every chance he can open his account for the campaign nudged back up 2 lb.

ALI STAR BERT enhanced his fine record at this course with another solid placed effort 4 weeks ago and Shaun Harris' 9-y-o is fancied to go one better at the expense of Ultra Beat, who has made a promising start to his chasing career but needs to shrug a lesser effort at Chepstow last time. Impatient, who is returning from 4 months off, rounds off the shortlist.
