Progressive hurdler landed a double when making-all to win a Hereford novice last time (19.7f), jumping well and showing plenty of enthusiasm. Up 8 lb for that effort but remains unexposed and there could be more improvement to come having only his sixth start under Rules.

Usually front-runs and did that to good effect when landing a pair of handicap hurdles (including over C&D) in early 2024 but has proved out of sorts this season, latest fourteenth of 17 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Wetherby (19.7f, soft) 36 days ago. Needs to bounce back.

Likeable sort with an excellent strike rate under Rules, producing another improved showing to score at Cartmel (22.1f) in May, before holding his form when hitting the frame his final couple of outings last season. Likely needed the run on reappearance and no surprise to see him go well again.

Has a good record fresh and made a winning seasonal return at this venue in in October. Matched that form when hitting the frame on two subsequent starts but posted a disappointing effort when well-beaten at Haydock (21.2f) in January. Better expected for return to this trip/track after a break.

Fine record at this track, winning a novice last season and finishing second here on seasonal reappearance. However he disappointed on latest outing when pulled up at Kelso (16.2f) and connections quick to reach for headgear (visor). Needs to bounce back but this trip should suit much better.

Returned to the pick of his French form to open his account on British soil in 10-runner handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f) in May but disappointing in three runs this season, often jumping poorly. Others preferred.

Made a promising start when second in maiden hurdle at this venue but failed to build on that remaining qualifying runs, having had a breathing operation (also wore tongue-tie) prior to his latest fourth of 7 at Musselburgh (19.8f). Cheekpieces now added for handicap debut and needs to improve.

Bagged a third win of the season at Sedgefield in October but struggled in couple of starts from a higher mark since. Handicapper has only dropped him a 1 lb and he'll need to be at his best to win this on his first outing for 110 days.

Third in an Irish point and showed plenty of promise in novice company, hitting the frame in final two qualifying runs around Catterick, latest finishing fourth of 7 (19.3f) having attracted some support in the market. Looks an interesting type now switched to handicaps.

Went close sole start between the flags last February and there were signs that he was starting to get the hang of things when finishing fifth of 10 in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle last month. Interesting to see what the market makes of him ahead of this handicap debut.

C&D winner but it's now 18 runs since his last win in 2022 and he'd lost his way when posting a couple of disappointing efforts in September last year. Plenty to prove making reappearance from 9 lb out of the handicap.

15:30 Carlisle - 9 March 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

TYSON MAGOO showed plenty of promise in novice company and there's every chance he'll be able to improve for the switch to handicaps, racing off what appears to be a fair opening mark. Course-winner Blue Fin disappointed last time but has been freshened up and may well bounce back, while the progressive Sayva is much respected in his bid for a hat-trick, although he may have some company for the lead on this occasion.
