At least as good as ever when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle under this rider at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) 9 days ago. Turned out again quickly but goes unpenalised for that success and has to be on the shortlist.

Signed off last term with 2m5f hurdling success at Wincanton but has produced two disconcerting efforts over fences this season, looking moody at Market Rasen last time. Something to prove back over the smaller obstacles having left Henry Daly.

Made a low-key start for current connections but his recent second in an 11-runner handicap hurdle at Exeter (21.6f, heavy) 29 days ago was more like it and he's not ruled out if able to build on that.

Back to form returned to hurdling when second in a 10-runner contest at Exeter early in December. Perhaps found his next start coming too soon less than a fortnight on and he's not ruled out with cheekpieces on for the first time.

Showed her first form under Rules when a never-nearer fourth of 14 in novice hurdle at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 17 days ago. Opening mark takes no chances but she's less exposed than most.

Advanced her form when easily getting off the mark at Ludlow in November and got back on the up when runner-up in a 15-runner contest at Exeter (21.6f, heavy) 17 days ago. Should go well again.

Modest hurdler at best in Ireland for Robert Murphy. Placed on her debut for this yard back in November but no better than mid-field subsequently and refused to race at Taunton 12 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Fairly useful handicapper at best on Flat (stays 12.5f) for Charlie Johnston but hasn't yet gone on from a reasonably encouraging start in this sphere. Others preferred.

Fair maiden on Flat and more like it over hurdles with a brace of fourth-place finishes in handicaps around 17f in the autumn. Little impact in 2 starts since, though, so bounce back is called for.

OUR BILL'S AUNT was to back to her best when scoring in a conditionals/amateurs event at Leicester last week and escapes a penalty for that win, so is fancied to follow up at the chief expense of Olivia Kate, who got herself right back to form when runner-up at Exeter earlier in the month. Gentleman Jacques can complete the placings in a contest seemingly containing plenty of dead wood.
