Jack Hobbs gelding. 17/2, who was outpaced gradually up the straight when finishing eighth of 13 in bumper at Southwell (15.8f) 5 weeks ago. Goes hurdling now but he may well be one for further down the line.

€72,000 3-y-o, Shantou gelding. Failed to justify support in a Uttoxeter bumper last winter and not without promise when fifth of 10 in novice hurdle at Kempton (16f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 12 months ago. Open to improvement this term, particularly when stamina is tested further.

Solid start when third in a Bangor bumper back in April and he improved after 5 months off when winning 8-runner bumper at Worcester (2m) in September. Seen to very good effect on that occasion but he ought to have a future in this sphere.

Down the field in novice/maiden hurdles at Wetherby/Uttoxeter last month and low-grade handicaps will be more his bag on the back of this.

Bumper winner but has yet to reach that level over hurdles and no better on the back of a 9-month absence when ninth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Lingfield (16f, soft) 43 days ago. First-time blinkers need to spark major improvement.

Displayed fairly useful form in France, best effort when third in 6-runner Group 3 at Auteuil in May. Left Hugo Merienne (€80,000 in July) and stepped forward on stable debut run without being near her best when second in juvenile hurdle at Doncaster (16.6f) 23 days ago. Claims if stepping up again.

ATLANTIC LAD stepped forward from his Rules debut effort when a very good second in a Bangor novice 39 days ago. He's a lead player on that evidence and earns the vote with conditions holding no fears. Irisante is a player on the pick of her form in France and can figure in receipt of weight all round. Hurdles debutant Graham is another to note, along with the returning Pleasington.
