3/1
Lightly-raced maiden who stepped up on his belated reappearance effort when second of 11 in novice hurdle at Limerick (21f, soft, 16/1) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut and surprise were he not capable of better for his top yard.

16/1
Irish point winner who quickly reached a fair level over hurdles last season, winning second of 3 starts in a Hexham maiden (16.2f) in March. Rather disconcerting she's been pulled up both starts over fences/hurdles this winter but undergone wind surgery ahead of this. Could bounce back.

Fairly useful over hurdles and fences in France, winning a claiming chase in March. Too keen when remote third in 2¾m Kelso novice hurdle on British debut 73 days ago but that should have knocked some of the freshness out of him. Refitting of a hood can also help in that regard.

Consistent sort who got off the mark in 10-runner novice hurdle at Carlisle (17.2f, soft) in October. However, handed a stiff-opening mark and never threatened when fourth of 6 on handicap debut at Sandown (2m) 46 days ago. Eased 2 lb ahead of this.

11/2
Registered a second hurdles victory from a 4 lb lower mark over C&D in November and far from disgraced when sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, good to soft) 37 days ago. Not ruled out in an open-looking contest.

Fairly useful in bumpers and won first 2 starts over hurdles in 2022/23. Very lightly raced since but didn't shape badly with a view to stepping back up in trip for new stable when third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (16.6f) 39 days ago. Worth a second look.

10/3
Dual C&D winner last winter who stepped up on his comeback when third returned to this venue in November. Subsequent Kelso run was disappointing but a return to this course rates an obvious plus with cheekpieces now reached for. Possibilities.

Forecasts

Timmy Tuesday (3/1), Follow Charlie (10/3), Ruby Island (4/1), I Wish You (9/2), Kinbara Firstdraft (11/2), Bel Amigo (14/1), Dollar Collar (16/1)

15:40 Ayr - 21 January 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FOLLOW CHARLIE needs to dispel a lesser effort at Kelso but a return to this venue (both wins gained over C&D) rates an obvious plus with the cheekpieces now reached for and he's given a chance to bounce back. Ruby Island promises to be suited by the step back up in trip and she's feared. Gordon Elliott's Timmy Tuesday on handicap debut is another to note.
