Hampton Novices' Chase (Grade 2) (GBB Race)

Looked very promising when landing novice/handicap hurdles last winter. His poor run in at the Cheltenham Festival came at a time when his stable were under a cloud and this former Irish point winner made a bright start to chase career when making winning return at Uttoxeter. The one to beat.

Ended hurdling campaign with good fourth on handicap debut at Aintree and bettered that form when taking 3-runner novice at Carlisle on return/debut over fences. Unsuited by emphasis on speed when third in Grade 2s at Newbury/Ascot since and stiffer test here should suit.

Winner of his first 4 starts over hurdles last term and confirmed chase debut promise when narrow winner at Exeter. Improved again when following up at Chepstow and this likeable type promises to be suited by this longer distance.
