Winner of sole start between the flags last December. Best effort of his 3 under Rules so far was when fourth of 13 in a Uttoxeter maiden (15.7f, heavy) but not so good either side of that and his attitude doesn't appear to be all it could be. Step forward needed on this handicap bow.

Runner-up twice over hurdles in June and also performed with credit when fourth at Stratford the following month. However, he proved a let-down back hurdling in a Huntingdon selling handicap 3 weeks ago and while this step back up in trip is no bad thing, others make more appeal.

Shaped with promise when placed in a couple of juvenile events during the spring, following which he was a good second to a progressive type on handicap debut at Southwell (15.8f, soft) in June. Has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts but it's still early days for this 4-y-o. Considered.

Little impact in various race-types for James Ewart but, back from nearly 3 years off, he belied odds of 40/1 when making a winning start for this yard in a 15.8f novice here (good) in May. Had fortune on his side that day but it was a significant step forward all the same and he needs considering.

Went the wrong way in second half of last season but back on track following a wind op with a tongue strap enlisted when second in a 15-runner Ffos Las handicap (2½m, good to soft) last month. Should be on the premises here, provided he is able to build on that effort.

Didn't shape at all badly when third on debut in a bumper here in February. Has failed to trouble the judge in 2 completed starts over hurdles but it wouldn't be a surprise were he to show himself in a better light now handicapping. One to note in the betting.

Midfield at best in his qualifying runs but has hinted at promise and will likely come into his own now upped in trip on handicap debut for his top stable. Sports first-time cheekpieces/tongue strap and it'll be interesting to see if support arrives for this 5-y-o.

Fairly useful Flat winner but below par both starts on the level this year and offered little on last month's reappearance/handicap debut in this sphere.

Hasn't cut much ice in 2 starts since switched to handicaps and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Winning pointer who caused something of a surprise when making a successful debut under Rules in 2½m Hexham maiden in June. However, that was a weak race and she's had her limitations exposed since. Now tried in a tongue strap.

Showed ability in maiden/novice company and sound start to handicap career when third in 2½m Hereford mares' event on return in October. Failed to build on that at Warwick (2m, good) next time but eased 2 lb since and perhaps worth another chance now that she steps back up in trip.

Reached the frame in maiden hurdles in Ireland for Eoin Doyle but has shown nothing in a trio of handicaps for new connections. Readily passed over.

Landed a 14-runner handicap hurdle at Kelso (2¼m, good) in September that produced winners and nothing wrong with a brace of placed efforts since. Likely to be in the mix once again.

Modest form on the Flat in Ireland and made little impact over hurdles last season. Showed some spark following a wind op when fourth of 15 back from an 8-month break at (2½m, good to soft), finishing under a length adrift of Kingoftheswingerz. More will be needed if she's to take this, though.

Returned to form when third in first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap at Bangor (16.7f, good) in September. However, the headgear (on again here) failed to work equally well second time round at Exeter and he is hard to warm to on the back of that.

A fair bumper winner but she's yet to score in this sphere (0-9 over hurdles) and hopes now pinned on the first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap helping to spark improvement.

It's likely that SKIFFLE MAN will leave his low-key novice efforts well behind now faced with a stiffer test and sent handicapping off an opening mark that probably underestimates him. The hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. While Aquitaine Boy probably would've finished second had the eventual runner-up not hit the final flight here in May, it was a much-improved effort whichever way you look at it and he is next best ahead of Glimpse of Glory and Pacific.
