Landed Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham last season. Shaped encouragingly after 7 months off despite coming in last of 5 in Old Roan Chase at Aintree last month. Big shout.

Finally got off the mark in this sphere in 4-runner novice chase at Cheltenham (15.9f, good) 17 days ago. This is tougher but he's still not taken lightly.

Landed a newcomers hurdle at Compiegne last October and won twice after at Kempton for his current yard, including the Grade 2 Adonis Hurdle. Remains lightly raced and an interesting chasing debutant.

None of these can be ruled out but preference is for Dan Skelton's Grand Annual Chase victor UNEXPECTED PARTY who shaped as if his reappearance fifth in Aintree's Old Roan Chase would put him spot on here. Paul Nicholls saddles an interesting chasing newcomer in the shape of Adonis Hurdle winner Kalif du Berlais and Irish-challenger Path d'Oroux also warrants plenty of respect in this intriguing contest.
