Made promising start under Rules last season, in front when falling at the last in mares' maiden hurdle at Stratford (22f, heavy) in November. Only seventh in handicap at Newbury (20.5f, good to soft) in March, but she's a leading contender returning on softer ground.

Fair form over hurdles in France. Largely struggled for Alexandra Dunn subsequently, but was runner-up at this course (21.8f) last September. However, after 12 months off she was well held over C&D on stable debut 19 days ago. Cheekpieces now reached for.

Went the right way upped in trip in handicaps last season, improving further when getting off the mark in mares' race at Taunton (23.9f, soft) in March. Back down in distance for her return, but she's respected with her yard going well.

Didn't kick on from a promising start over fences last season, but fared better back hurdling when fourth of 13 in mares' handicap at Warwick (21f, good to soft) in May. Not in the same form at Southwell next time, though she's not dismissed from her current mark.

Didn't show much in a bumper and novice hurdles last season, but in first-time hood she took a step forward on handicap debut when third of 9 at this C&D (good) in May. Remains lightly raced so she could still have more to offer.

Showed more than on debut when third of 14 in maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good) in August, but failed to repeat that effort when well beaten at this course (17.7f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Improvement required as she goes handicapping.

Still a maiden and, in first-time blinkers, she ultimately finished well held despite making the frame when fourth of 9 in mares' handicap hurdle at this course (21.8f, good) 45 days ago. Has work to do with cheekpieces back on.

Forecasts

Drumlee Spud (7/4), Tuscan Rose (15/8), Our Friend Mo (11/2), Lady Salvador (8/1), Pennsylvanie (11/1), Miss Popalong (11/1), Jaunty Belle (20/1), Mutley Crew (28/1)

16:45 Fontwell - 23 October 2024 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

After making a promising start to her career, DRUMLEE SPUD finished well held in a Grade 2 contest at Newbury on handicap debut when last seen in March, but back on softer ground she can take advantage of this drop in grade. Tuscan Rose showed improved form in handicaps last season and is feared most, ahead of Miss Popalong.
